The article analyses critically three dififerent models about human being: the homo faber, or tecnocratic humanism, dominant along Modernity from Descartes and Bacon to Marx; the homo natura and the homo ludens , which represent antihumanist models of the late Modernity. In front of these models we can find a fourth one: the homo patiens or excentric humanism, openned to God, others and nature. Only this model gives a consistent foundation to the universality of the rights because it identifies the concepts of human being and person.

L’autor de Curial e Güelfa, novel·la de cavalleria humanística escrita a Itàlia pels anys 1445- 1448 en llengua catalana, era coneixedor i estudiós de les Epistolae Familiares de Francesco Petrarca, com ha posat en evidència la crítica literària. Don Enrique de Aragón (c. 1384-1434) resulta una de las figuras más influyentes en el período del Humanismo peninsular. Su primera creación –Los doze trabajos de Hércules– constituye la primera interpretación mitológica del prerrenacimiento hispánico, al tiempo que constituye uno de los testimonios romances más antiguos del tópico de las armas y de las letras. Este artículo pretende caracterizar desde el punto de vista filológico sus rasgos de estilo más representativos, así como iniciar posibilidades re-novadas de estudio, centradas en la Fraseología hispánica medieval.

ABSTRACTEnvironmental themes have invaded Nordic TV crime series over the past few years. In this paper, the epistemological starting points of a Swedish series, Jordskott, are examined. The paper argues that the series criticizes the traditional humanist paradigm on which realistic crime narratives are based. It does so through the introduction of fantastic non-human beings with the help of which the boundaries of ‘nature’ and ‘human being’ are set mobile. In the series, subjectivities are rendered volatile and the humanist epistemological paradigm is questioned as a sustainable ground for defining what counts as a subject. Curial and Guelfa, by an unknown author, is a chivalric romance written in a realistic style. Planned within the medieval tradition, although infl uenced by Italian Humanism, it was composed in fluent Catalan, but subject to several linguistic and cultural interferences. It was probably conceived and written in Italy in the decade of 1440. The author not only knows deeply the courteous volgare language, but also the literary one (especially Boccaccio), with which he enriches a Catalan language probably learnt in Valencia.
