Fabrication of Porous Hydrogenation Catalysts by a Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printing Technique
2019
Open in a separate window Three-dimensional selective laser sintering printing was utilized to produce porous, solid objects, in which the catalytically active component, Pd/SiO2, is attached to an easily printable supporting polypropylene framework. Physical properties of the printed objects, such as porosity, were controlled by varying the printing parameters. Structural characterization of the objects was performed by helium ion microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray tomography, and the catalytic performance of the objects was tested in the hydrogenation of styrene, cyclohexene, and phenylacetylene. The results show that the selective laser sintering process provides an alte…
Deterioration of Property of Aluminum Alloys (EN AW-1050A, EN AW-5754 and EN AW-6060) by Absorbed Hydrogen
2022
The paper reports the results of research on the effect of hydrogen penetration on the variations in the mechanical properties of selected aluminum alloys. As a result of the study, it can be observed that such variations contribute to the deterioration of mechanical properties, which, in turn, contributes to shortening the reliability time associated with the operation of aluminum alloy structures. The analysis involved structural aluminum alloys: EN AW-1050A, EN AW-5754 and EN AW-6060. Tensile strength and impact strength were measured. It was demonstrated that the absorption of hydrogen by the analyzed alloys led to the deterioration of mechanical properties of aluminum alloys. The perfo…
Synthese und Eigenschaften molekulareinheitlicher n-Paraffine bis zum C140H282
1972
Effect of silver deposits on the photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide samples for the dehydrogenation or oxidation of 2-propanol
1991
Abstract Until now, the effect of the deposition of metal particles onto a powdered semiconductor oxide on its photocatalytic activity has been determined for group VIII transition metals only. In this study, AGTiO2 samples were prepared by photodeposition, characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and tested, under band-gap illumination, using the oxidation of 2-propanol (neat liquid phase or mixed with water) in the absence or presence of molecular oxygen. The silver deposits were found to be metallic both before and after use, but the size of the particles and their distribution on the support were markedly influenced by the type …

Optimal hydrogen storage in sodium substituted lithium fullerides
2017
Through the substitution of Li with Na in Li6C60, we synthesized a series of mixed alkali cluster intercalated fullerides, NaxLi6−xC60. These compounds share lattices of Na6C60 and Li6C60 with a cubic parameter linearly dependent on x. H2 absorption and desorption were studied by means of charge/discharge kinetic measurements and coupled calorimetric–manometric evaluation. By varying the stoichiometry, we found the best compromise among the absorption rate, temperature and amount of hydrogen for x = 0.5 and 1. Small concentrations of Na substituted to Li significantly lower the absorption temperature of Li6C60, improving the hydrogenation capacity, the kinetics, and the dehydrogenation enth…
Experimental investigation on lithium borohydride hydrolysis
2010
Abstract Lithium borohydride, one of the highest energy density chemical energy carriers, is considered as an attractive potential hydrogen storage material due to its high gravimetric hydrogen density (19.6%). Belonging to borohydride compounds, it presents a real issue to overcome aims fixed by the U.S. Department of Energy in the field of energy, and so crystallizes currently attention and effort to use this material for large scale civil and military applications. However, due to its important hygroscopicity, lithium borohydride is a hazardous material which requires specific handling conditions for industrial aspects. In order to understand much more the reaction mechanism involved bet…
DFT studies on catalytic properties of isolated and carbon nanotube supported Pd9 cluster. Part II. Hydro-isomerization of butene isomers
2010
The processes involved in the butene hydro-isomerization, occurring on a small palladium cluster in the presence of dissociated hydrogen, have been investigated by means of DFT and DFT/MM approaches. This study has been performed both on an isolated (unsupported) Pd(9) cluster and on the same cluster when it is supported on a portion of a single-walled armchair(6,6) carbon nanotube. The study follows another investigation which has already been published concerning the adsorption, fragmentation and diffusion of hydrogen on the same metal cluster. The main aspects involved in the parallel reaction steps of the whole hydro-isomerization mechanisms are not strongly affected by the presence of …

Functionalized 2-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes. IV. synthesis of the indolo[3,2-f]morphan system.
1982
Abstract A short route to the 2-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-7-one system is described. Condensation of 4-piperidones with diethyl 2-oxopropylphosphonate, followed by catalytic hydrogenation furnished the corresponding piperidylpropanones 6 which were cyclized with mercuric acetate in acetic acid to the target target bicyclic ketones 1 . The Fischer indole synthesis from 1 a afforded regioselectively the indole [3,2-f]morphan 2 , a new heteromorphan type.
