Under current diagnostics depression and stress related mood disorders have a higher occurrence in women than men. Little is known of the biological mechanisms contributing to these sex differences and how they may impact potential new therapeutics. Here we examine how DNA methylation contributes to sex specific stress vulnerability in adult animals. Mice of both sexes were exposed to variable stress and given a behavioral test battery to examine stress sensitivity. International audience; This paper presents a method based on shape-context and statistical measures to match interventional 2D Trans Rectal Ultrasound (TRUS) slice during prostate biopsy to a 2D Magnetic Resonance (MR) slice of a pre-acquired prostate volume. Accurate biopsy tissue sampling requires translation of the MR slice information on the TRUS guided biopsy slice. However, this translation or fusion requires the knowledge of the spatial position of the TRUS slice and this is only possible with the use of an electro-magnetic (EM) tracker attached to the TRUS probe. Celem opracowania jest wskazanie na rolę instytucji w kreowaniu lokalnych (regionalnych) biobiznesów. Lokalne biobiznesy opierają się na unikatowym wykorzystaniu zarówno standardowych, jak i specyficznych zasobów terytoriów, w których są zakładane. Analizę przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem trzech wymiarów transformacji europejskiego modelu rolnictwa: regulacji środowiskowych, dyfuzji wiedzy i informacji oraz powiązań międzyorganizacyjnych i społecznych. Image inpainting using directional wavelet packets originating from polynomial splines

The paper presents a new algorithm for the image inpainting problem. The algorithm is using a recently designed versatile library of quasi-analytic complex-valued wavelet packets (qWPs) which originate from polynomial splines of arbitrary orders. Tensor products of 1D qWPs provide a diversity of 2D qWPs oriented in multiple directions. For example, a set of the fourth-level qWPs comprises 62 different directions. Following short-term culture, Langerhans cells mature morphologically and functionally into potent immunostimulatory cells. As regulation of gene expression accompanies this maturation process, it is likely that differentially expressed genes are involved in the maturation events. Using the recently described method of differential display, we generated cDNA expression patterns starting with mRNA of murine epidermal Langerhans cells isolated either directly (fLC) or following 3 d cultivation (cLC). The Agrigento Cathedral was built about nine centuries ago on the edge of a steep slope made up of alternating inclined layers of soft calcarenites and fine-grained soils; its behaviour has never been satisfactory especially as far as the North aisle is concerned. Many corrective measures have been attempted during its lifespan and also a few years ago. They proved invariably unsuccessful. I molteplici aspetti della rappresentazione digitale riguardano anche le problematiche relative alla costruzione di una città smart in cui la comunicazione e la sua velocità di trasmissione sono diventati aspetti sostanziali della sua sintassi; app per tablet, mappe interattive, ricostruzioni digitali rendono più semplice la fruizione della città. Ci si chiede se la sola attenzione a queste componenti del disegno non rischi di allontanare la città dalla sua reale fruizione oppure se non sia necessaria una rappresentazione analitica preliminare che possa evidenziare futuri aspetti smart.
