PECAM-1/CD31 in infarction and longevity.
2007
: Inflammation has recently proven to be associated with the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and inflammatory genes are good candidates for the risk of developing atherosclerosis. The early phase of atherosclerosis involves the recruitment of inflammatory cells from the circulation and their transendothelial migration. This process is mainly mediated by cellular adhesion molecules, which are expressed by the vascular endothelium and by circulating leukocytes in response to several inflammatory stimuli. Adhesion of circulating cells to the arterial surface is among the first detectable events in atherogenesis. Cellular adhesion molecules, expressed by the vascular endothelium and by circulat…
The rs1527483, but not rs3212018, CD36 polymorphism associates with linoleic acid detection and obesity in Czech young adults
2018
AbstractRecent evidence has raised the possibility of the existence of a sixth taste modality – that is, taste for fat – which is mediated by lingual CD36 and plays a role in obesity. Consequently, the genetic polymorphism of CD36 has been shown to be associated with altered oro-sensory detection of dietary lipids. In the present study, we investigated the relationship between oro-sensory perception of linoleic acid (LA), two CD36 polymorphisms (rs1527483 and rs3212018), obesity parameters and craving habits for dietary lipids in young Czech adults. We also sequenced 5 and 6 exons of CD36 to trace out any new mutation that might be responsible for the difference in taste perception. We obse…
Cluster-determinant 36 (CD36) impacts on vitamin E postprandial response
2014
International audience; Scope: A single nucleotide polymorphism in the cluster determinant 36 (CD36) gene has recently been associated with plasma alpha-tocopherol concentration, suggesting a possible role of this protein in vitamin E intestinal absorption or tissue uptake. Methods and results: To investigate the involvement of CD36 in vitamin E transport, we first evaluated the effect of CD36 on alpha- and gamma-tocopherol transmembrane uptake and efflux using transfected HEK cells. gamma-Tocopherol postprandial response was then assessed in CD36-deficient mice compared with wild-type mice, after the mice had been fully characterized for their alpha -tocopherol, vitamin A and lipid plasma,…
CD36 AA genotype is associated with decreased lipid taste perception in young obese, but not lean, children.
2015
Obesity is an alarming threat for all age groups, including children. Fat overconsumption is one of the factors that directly influences this pathology. Recent studies have suggested that a common variant in the CD36 gene, that is, single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs1761667-A allele, that reduces CD36 expression, associates with high oral fat detection thresholds in some obese subjects. The objective was to assess fatty acid sensitivity in relation to CD36 SNP in young lean and obese children. We studied lingual detection thresholds for emulsions, containing oleic acid, in Algerian children (n=116, age=8±0.5 years) who were divided into two groups: obese (n=57; body mass index (BMI) z-s…
It's up to all of us: social identity in the language of public warnings
2010
the paper investigates the features of the language used by the Bitish and Italian publica warning which aim to protect and advise citizens. It mainly relies on critical discourse analysis and cultural studies (Hofstede's cultural dimensions).
"Table 20" of "K*(892)^0 and PHI(1020) production in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV"
2015
Yield (dN/dy) of (K*(892)0 + anti-K*(892)0)/2 for different centrality intervals in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(sNN)=2.76 TeV. In the table, the first systematic uncertainty is uncorrelated between centrality intervals, the second is the normalization uncertainty.

Alignment of the ATLAS Inner Detector and Single Top Studies
2016
In-Between discourse and genre: doctor-patient interaction in online communication. Formal and informal features in CMC
2012
Abstract This paper presents the results of a corpus-based study which investigates the genre of medical eexchanges between doctors and medical website users. Three conversational routines (greetings, politeness, formal and informal linguistic features) are analyzed. The framework of the study is what some researchers refer to as net linguistics (Posteguillo 2003), consisting of the linguistic study of Computer Mediated Communication (CMC). The findings indicate that health posts are a relatively informal type of d/p interaction which is largely influenced by e-mails and chat conventions.
