La (re)construcció visual i retòrica de Jaume I a la Festa de l?Estendard de Mallorca durant l?època foral

Resum: L’article preten adverar de quina manera es configurava i s’identificava la figura del rei en Jaume a la Festa de l’Estendard, la commemoracio anual de la conquesta cristiana de la ciutat de Mallorca, mitjancant l’analisi dels elements visuals i retorics planificats per al desenvolupament d’aquella. Cal parar atencio, concretament, a dos d’aquests elements: el portaestandard que anava a cavall ben abillat amb armadura i altres objectes i l’eloquent predica –coneguda com el Sermo de la Conquesta– que pronunciava un clergue acreditat per a tal funcio. Following in the footsteps of Ian Macpherson, I offer an interpretation of an anonymous invención found in the Cancionero general (11CG-517) and the British Library Cancionero (LB1-251). I maintain that the image displayed by the jouster was inspired by the iconography of the virgin-martyr Saint Margaret of Antioch, and I propose a theory about the identity of the lady addressed and, with less certainty, about the identity of the jouster and the occasion when the invención was displayed, using Pinar’s Juego trobado as a tool of research and invoking a passage on the sinfulness of the fashion among ladies and damsels for wearing hooped petticoats in a treatise by Hernando de Talavera.

El reino de Valencia, como otros de la Corona de Aragón y del resto de la Península Ibérica, se mostró especialmente propicio al levantamiento de cruces de término; pero los pocos estudios académicos que les han prestado atención se han detenido en su aspecto estilístico, lo que ha llevado a no pocos investigadores a comparar estas cruces con las de orfebrería. Más allá de su decoración, sin embargo, sus respectivas tipologías iconográficas presentan sustanciales diferencias. Aquest article recupera el concepte d’art de la memòria aplicat a les obres de Ramon Llull a partir de la presentació i el comentari de figures de mans amb finalitats mnemotècniques, especulatives i predicadores, que es troben en els manuscrits lul·lians de l’Ars demonstrativa –escrita el 1283– datats del segle xiii i el xvi. En els manuscrits de Venècia (Bibl. Marciana, Lat. VI. 200), de Bèrgam (MA 365) i de San Candido (B. della Collegiata, VIII C.8), la mà està vinculada a la figura S de l’Ars demonstrativa. This dissertation deals with the iconography of the Zodiac between Antiquity and Middle Age, in particular in churches between the XIth and the XIIIth century. The heart of the dissertation is the analysis of a corpus of 260 items. These items concern the figuration of the signs of the Zodiac and the Labors of the months, whether or not combinated, within ecclesial ornamentation between the XIth and the XIIIth century. This period corresponds to the “renaissance” and to the growth of the figuration of the Zodiac in this context. The study is divided into three parts. The set of more than 225 vases with figurative decoration found in El Tossal de Sant Miquel (TSM), Lliria, with a chronology that it is fitted in the second stage of the Middle Iberian, between IIIrd century B.C. at the beginning of the IInd B. C, and published by first time in the Corpus Vasorum Hispanorum, offers a rich iconography in arms elements. Estrategias icónicas en las comedias mitológicas de Calderón

El artículo explora el tópico horaciano «ut pictura poiesis», que tan buenos resultado ha ofrecido sobre el análisis de los textos calderonianos, pero no solo: también incorpora la relación de otras artes (música, escenografía, etc.) para estudiar el complejo entramado de las comedias mitológicas de Calderón que fueron representadas en entornos cortesanos. De este modo, la autora rastrea las interacciones artísticas existentes entre obras de destacada importancia como la fiesta palaciega “La fiera, el rayo y la piedra”, “La púrpura de la rosa” o “El hijo del sol, Faetón”.
