Para ello utilizaremos como hilo conductor la imagen del guerrero ibérico presente en un vaso cerámico encontrado en el departamento 95 del yacimiento ibérico de Edeta, situado en el Cerro de San Miguel de Lliria, conocido como el Vaso de las cabezotas. n this paper we would like to analyse the symbolic meaning and the ritual that could be behind plumes and chimeras imitating animals as the wolf and embellished helmets of the warriors in Antiquity. We will use as a guideline the Iberian…

Representations of the Life-giving Spring feast in Romanian iconography

2021

This article explores the development of the theme of the Life-giving Spring in Byzantine iconography. The path towards its establishment was initiated at the moment when a representation rule, an original convention was set. Thereafter, because of its diffusion in time and space, the theme became enriched by particular mentalities and sensibilities of the epochs and the communities that adopted it as a form of devotion for the Virgin Theotokos. As a result, the representations we have known so far are extremely varied. Contribution: The final purpose of this approach, as well as its contribution, is to highlight the diverse unity of the iconographic tradition and illustrate both the evolut…

2006

In France, when we speak about the animal associated to celtic people, everybody thinks and mentions wildboar. This topic meanly emerged from XIXe historiography, but Archaeozoology shows that this animal is very rare in every kinds of sites (settelments, shrines or cemeteries). In other hand, the excavations of these sites give a great amount of pig bones, this animal is in fact one of the more important in celtic husbandry and meat production. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the difference between historiographic and archaeological evidences.
