Con lo spirito di divulgare l'opera di Francesco Minà Palumbo, alcuni fra coloro che negli ultimi decenni hanno contribuito allo studio del patrimonio naturale e naturale delle Madonie hanno aderito all'iniziativa promossa dal museo Naturalistico di Castelbuono dedicato allo scienziato e dal Dipartimento di Scienze Botaniche di Palermo per sostenere l'onere della pubblicazione concessa dagli eredi all'Editore Sellerio di Palermo.

Observations on the canvas, due to the brush of Mario de Laurito, an elegant painter of composite culture active between Naples and Sicily in the first half of XVI century, it came to the Diocesan Museum of Palermo from the local church of the archconfraternity of the Santissima Annunziata "outside Porta San Giorgio "(late fifteenth - early sixteenth century, for which Travagliato 2010) fortunately shortly before the allied bombings on Palermo which between April and May 1943 caused the destruction (Guiotto 1946).

During a recent restoration in an underground chapel in Marsala (TP), the wall to which the altar is attached proved to be a palimpsest of several layers. The oldest dated back from the late twelfth to early thirteenth century displaying a “velarium” in the lower register. Overhead we see a Madonna in prayer (Δηομένη) preceded by a theory of Saints. A second layer, from the 15th century, decisively changes the original iconography thus transforming it into the typically Sicilian iconography of the “Madonna dell’Itria”. For the first time, the corpus of Roman wood sculptures from Burgundy is gathered together in a catalogue, with added photographic documents and bibliography. The twenty-five sculptures are listed and studied from a stylistic, iconographic and technical point of view. In the XIIth century, an actual school of monastic wood sculpture seemed to develop within the boundaries of the duchy of Burgundy, bringing a great diversity as far as formal and technical contributions are concerned. I minori stranieri non accompagnati rappresentano una delle categorie più vulnerabili e le recenti ricerche ci aiutano ad inquadrare le proporzioni del fenomeno. Il presente contributo approfondisce alcune questioni sulla complessa relazione a distanza tra i minori stranieri e le loro famiglie d’origine, proponendo la strada dell’affidamento omoculturale che nell’esperienza italiana si è rivelato lo strumento più idoneo per una risposta ai bisogni educativi di questi bambini e ragazzi. L’affidamento familiare offre la possibilità di una risposta concreta al bisogno d’intimità e insieme di dignità di questi minori.
