Povertà e vita. Mendicità e filosofia nel mondo greco

2015

Czytanie malarstwa romantycznego w szkole – aksjologiczny wymiar malarstwa Caspara Davida Friedricha

2015

Autorka szkicu podejmuje próbę diagnozy dzisiejszej sytuacji panującej w szkolnej metodyce „czytania” dzieł malarskich i kreśli idealną sytuację szkolnej egzegezy sztuk plastycznych, pozwalającą na wniknięcie w trzy wymiary dzieła: ontologiczny, semiotyczny i aksjologiczny. Jako przykład twórców, których obrazy dają szerokie możliwości interpretacyjne i umożliwiają odkrywanie metafizycznego wymiaru sztuki, podaje ikonografię romantyczną, a w niej malarstwo Kaspara Davida Friedricha. Zasadniczą część szkicu stanowi interpretacja dwóch obrazów niemieckiego artysty z motywem bohatera odwróconego plecami do widza. Pierwszy z nich to jedna z bardziej znanych jego kompozycji pt.

1998

The tympanum of the central portal of Nantes cathedral. Owing to a reassessment of the available sources on the sculptured decor of the façade of Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul cathedral in Nantes, it is possible to bring some precisions about the original state of the building. The tympanum of the central portal of this façade did not present, as is usually acknowledged, an original openwork design which was filled up in the 17th century when the organ loft was erected. The analysis of the still existing remnants, as well as the size and nature of the stones used in this portal leads one to think that its present state dates back to the actual construction. Textual pieces of evidence allow the…

The Urban Landscape in the Graphic Representation of the Cathedral of Palermo

2018

This study proposes some reflections on the relationship between the Cathedral of Palermo and the urban portion where it is placed, in relation to the indissoluble connection with the landscape that in the history offered a variety of perceptive suggestions marked by the passage and the coexistence of different cultural and social domination. To this end, the multiscale historical-urban planning analysis puts in place the role that territorial and urban morphology has had over time in relation to the Cathedral of Palermo. In this sense, the relationship between the architectural artefacts, such as the Royal Palace and the Town Hall, and the urban context is studied according to its access r…

2018

The proposed contribution is focused on the graphic analysis of an eighteenth-century perspective view portraying one of the most ancient squares of the City of Palermo (piazza Garraffello). It is an engraving print made by F. Cichè in 1711 on commission of the Guild of Silversmiths: the square is completely described with the fountain (still existing) in the foreground, and with the corporate lodges of foreign nations in the background (these two buildings nowadays have disappeared). In the picture is also visible a temporary triumphal arch with canopy erected by the same guild who had commissioned the view: this is the object of main perspectival interest. The study of the perspective use…

2005

Unlike the Punic issues of Sicily, in which the Phoenician religious iconography plays only a marginal role, on the coins of the III-II century BC. J. C. of Melite, this theme is very present. The permanence of these themes in the monetary issues of peripheral and marginal areas, such as Melite, can be explained as a desire to preserve a cultural heritage and the relative religious identity, which resisted the political conquest of Rome (218 BC)
