Structural variability of 3C 111 on parsec scales

We discuss the parsec-scale structural variability of the extragalactic jet 3C 111 related to a major radio flux density outburst in 2007. The data analyzed were taken within the scope of the MOJAVE, UMRAO, and F-GAMMA programs, which monitor a large sample of the radio brightest compact extragalactic jets with the VLBA, the University of Michigan 26 m, the Effelsberg 100 m, and the IRAM 30 m radio telescopes. The analysis of the VLBA data is performed by fitting Gaussian model components in the visibility domain. Cost analysis of a vaccination strategy for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in a network model

[EN] In this paper an age-structured mathematical model for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is proposed where children younger than one year old, who are the most affected by this illness, are specially considered. Real data of hospitalized children in the Spanish region of Valencia are used in order to determine some seasonal parameters of the model. Once the parameters are determined, we propose a complete stochastic network model to study the seasonal evolution of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) epidemics. As this quote suggests, the aim of this chapter is to describe the essential feature of Paulo Freire’s solution to the conundrum that Lev Vygotsky’s framework stumbled upon. Translating a verbal coding system from one language to another can yield unexpected insights into the process of communication in different cultures. This paper describes the problems and understandings we encountered as we translated a verbal response modes (VRM) taxonomy from English into Spanish. Standard translations of text (e.g., psychotherapeutic dialogue) systematically change the form of certain expressions, so supposedly equivalent expressions had different VRM codings in the two languages. <p>“La movilidad inclusiva” es parte de las prioridades políticas definidas por numerosos países europeos para referirse a la dimensión social del transporte o las políticas de movilidad cotidiana. De forma general, la inclusión se refiere a la cohesión social, que ha sido uno de los objetivos declarados de la Unión Europea desde el inicio de los años 2000. Como mecanismo para facilitar el acceso a las oportunidades (empleo, comercio, servicios, etc.), la movilidad individual es actualmente considerada un prerrequisito necesario para la participación de las personas en las actividades sociales. En el presente artículo, analizaremos al detalle la refiguración posmoderna del mito clásico de Narciso en el largometraje Yo soy otro (2008), dirigido por el cineasta colombiano Óscar Campo. Según argüiremos desde una amplia perspectiva filosófica enfocada en las epistemologías contemporáneas del individuo posmetafísico, este filme propone una apropiación audaz de la trágica historia del efebo heleno que subsume las preocupaciones existenciales que determinan al sujeto contemporáneo y causan su auto-absorción individualista, su líquida impotencia, su falta de referentes trascendentales y sus pulsiones mortíferas.

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar entrevistas realizadas a 30 mujeres de 21 a 40 años de edad de sectores socioeconómicos medios y bajos y un corpus de sus fotografías publicadas online durante el proceso de su embarazo, poniéndolo en diálogo con las fotografías online del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación de campañas de cuidados de salud en el embarazo en Argentina. Nos interesa analizar ese recorte de la realidad, ese lugar donde se quiere echar luz, que implica la fotografía; sobre todo para poder identificar, analizar y comprender lo que se dejó afuera de ese recorte, lo que se intenta invisibilizar.
