Robust H∞ synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input

Abstract This paper concerns the robust control problems on the synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input. Using an appropriate Lyapunov function, we design the multi-dimensional and the single-dimensional robust H ∞ synchronization controllers in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the application in practical engineering. Corresponding theoretical derivations are given subsequently. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

By constructing a series of Lyapunov functions, novel H1 robust syn- chronization controllers are designed, whose control regulation possess the characteristic of simpleness and explicitness. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the e ectiveness of the proposed techniques.
An LMI approach to vibration control of base-isolated building structures with delayed measurements

In this article, we address a convex optimisation approach to the problem of state-feedback H∞ control design for vibration reduction of base-isolated building structures with delayed measurements, where the delays are time-varying and bounded. An appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and some free-weighting matrices are utilised to establish some delay-range-dependent sufficient conditions for the design of desired controllers in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The controller, which guarantees asymptotic stability and an H∞ performance, simultaneously, for the closed-loop system of the structure, is then developed. Existence results for parametric boundary value problems involving the mean curvature operator

In this note we propose a variational approach to a parametric differential problem where a prescribed mean curvature equation is considered. In particular, without asymptotic assumptions at zero and at infinity on the potential, we obtain an explicit positive interval of parameters for which the problem under examination has at least one nontrivial and nonnegative solution.
Electrostatic backscattering by insulating obstacles

AbstractWe introduce and analyze backscattering data for a three-dimensional obstacle problem in electrostatics. In particular, we investigate the asymptotic behavior of these data as (i) the measurement point goes to infinity and (ii) the obstacles shrink to individual points. We also provide numerical simulations of these data.

Fokker Planck equation solved in terms of complex fractional moments

Abstract In this paper the solution of the Fokker Planck (FPK) equation in terms of (complex) fractional moments is presented. It is shown that by using concepts coming from fractional calculus, complex Mellin transform and related ones, the solution of the FPK equation in terms of a finite number of complex moments may be easily found. It is shown that the probability density function (PDF) solution of the FPK equation is restored in the whole domain, including the trend at infinity with the exception of the value of the PDF in zero.
Gain-scheduled H-infinity observer design for nonlinear stochastic systems with time-delay and actuator saturation

In this paper, we propose a method for designing continuous gain-scheduled robust H ∞ observer on a class of extended stochastic nonlinear systems subject to time delay and actuator saturation. Initially, gradient linearization procedure is applied to describe such extended nonlinear systems into several model-based linear systems. Next, a robust linear H ∞ observer is designed to such linear stochastic models. SM identification of approximating models forH∞ robust control

Set Membership (SM) W, identification of mixed parametric and nonparametric models is investigated, aimed to estimate a low order approximating model and an identification error, giving a measure of the unmodeled dynamics in a form well suited for H, control methodologies.
