Analysis of an Experimental Model of In Vitro Cardiac Tissue Using Phase Space Reconstruction

2014

International audience; The in vitro cultures of cardiac cells represent valuable models to study the mechanism of the arrhythmias at the cellular level. But the dynamics of these experimental models cannot be characterized precisely, as they include a lot of parameters that depend on experimental conditions. This paper is devoted to the investigation of the dynamics of an in vitro model using a phase space reconstruction. Our model, based on the heart cells of new born rats, generates electrical field potentials acquired using a microelectrode technology, which are analyzed in normal and under external stimulation conditions. Phase space reconstructions of electrical field potential signal…

Reconstruction of hyperspectral cutaneous data from an artificial neural network-based multispectral imaging system.

2011

International audience; The development of an integrated MultiSpectral Imaging (MSI) system yielding hyperspectral cubes by means of artificial neural networks is described. The MSI system is based on a CCD camera, a rotating wheel bearing a set of seven interference filters, a light source and a computer. The resulting device has been elaborated for in vivo imaging of skin lesions. It provides multispectral images and is coupled with a software reconstructing hyperspectral cubes from multispectral images. Reconstruction is performed by a neural network-based algorithm using heteroassociative memories. The resulting hyperspectral cube provides skin optical reflectance spectral data combined…

Automatic detection of P, QRS and T patterns in 12 leads ECG signal based on CWT

2016

International audience; In this paper, a new method based on the continuous wavelet transform is described in order to detect the QRS, P and T waves. QRS, P and T waves may be distinguished from noise, baseline drift or irregular heartbeats. The algorithm, described in this paper, has been evaluated using the Computers in Cardiology (CinC) Challenge 2011 database and also applied on the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database (MITDB). The data from the CinC Challenge 2011 are standard 12 ECG leads recordings with full diagnostic bandwidth compared to the MITDB which only includes two leads for each ECG signal. Firstly, our algorithm is validated using fifty 12 leads ECG samples from the CinC collection…

Insights into genome plasticity of the wine-making bacterium Oenococcus oeni strain ATCC BAA-1163 by decryption of its whole genome.

2008

International audience; Studying genomes of O. oeni strains having opposite oenological aptitudes is important for understanding why this lactic acid bacterium involved in malolactic fermentation is so well adapted to wine. Here, the genome of a strain ATCC BAA-1163, is described and compared with the recently reported genome of the better wine-adapted strain PSU-1. The BAA-1163 genome (8X) was obtained by shotgun sequencing and Phrap assembling. Compact and 62% AT-rich, it consists of a circular 1,792,103-bp chromosome and a 3,948-bp plasmid. It was analysed through a CAAT-Box annotation platform and manually inspected. A total of 51 RNA genes were detected, including two rRNA operons (the…

[P27] Chemo-Biological Analysis Applied to the Olfaction Field

2022

Human are surrounded by numerous odorant molecules in the air from a limited number of olfactory receptors (1), and the odor perceived from these molecules does not comes from the isolated molecules but from their mixture (2). According to the odor perceived from the mixture, we differentiate the heterogeneous perception which is the distinction between the odor components of the mixture and the homogeneous perception that corresponds to the perception of a single odor from the mixture preventing the distinction between odor components of the mixture. There are two types of homogeneous perceptions: the masking and the blending mixture. Masking occurs when one of the mixture components cover…

[P32] Study of Odorants Sharing the Odor Notes of an Aroma Blending Mixture by a Pharmacophore Approach

2022

Odors perceived in our environment are mainly the result of mixtures of odorants whose the specific mechanisms involved in their processing remain poorly understood [1]. In previous studies performed at INRAE-CSGA [2], the perception of a mixture of ethyl isobutyrate (Et-iB, strawberry-like odor, STR) and ethyl maltol (Et-M, caramel-like odor, CAR) was investigated in comparison with a reference (allyl hexanoate, Al-H, pineapple-like odor, PNA) chosen to evoke an odor close to the one expected in the mixture. The binary specific mixture of Et-iB and Et-M was judged as more typical of a pineapple odor than the individual components. Some studies highlight the significance of the biological f…

Straightforward access to water-soluble unsymmetrical sulfoxanthene dyes: application to the preparation of far-red fluorescent dyes with large stoke…

2014

An efficient synthesis of water-soluble unsymmetrical sulforhodamine/sulforhodol fluorophores containing a single julolidine fragment is presented. Owing to their valuable spectral properties in aqueous buffers, these dyes, especially those bearing a free aniline or phenol moiety, are valuable components of fluorogenic probes for a variety of biosensing applications. A further extension of this synthetic methodology to unusual phenols, namely 7-N,N-dialkylamino-4-hydroxy coumarins has enabled us to provide a new family water-soluble dyes of large Stokes’ shift with far-red spectral features.
