Relative principal congruences in congruence-modular quasivarieties
1998
The problem of definability of relative principal congruences in relatively congruence modular (RCM) quasivarieties is investigated. The RCM quasivarieties are characterized in terms of parameterized families of finite sets of pairs of terms which define relative principal congruences.
A rigidity theorem for Lagrangian deformations
2005
We consider deformations of singular Lagrangian varieties in symplectic manifolds. We prove that a Lagrangian deformation of a Lagrangian complete intersection is analytically rigid provided that this is the case infinitesimally. This result is given as a consequence of the coherence of the direct image sheaves of relative infinitesimal Lagrangian deformations.
A Criterium for the Strict Positivity of the Density of the Law of a Poisson Process
2011
We translate in semigroup theory our result (Leandre, 1990) giving a necessary condition so that the law of a Markov process with jumps could have a strictly positive density. This result express, that we have to jump in a finite number of jumps in a "submersive" way from the starting point to the end point if the density of the jump process is strictly positive in . We use the Malliavin Calculus of Bismut type of (Leandre, (2008;2010)) translated in semi-group theory as a tool, and the interpretation in semi-group theory of some classical results of the stochastic analysis for Poisson process as, for instance, the formula giving the law of a compound Poisson process.
Injectors with a normal complement in a finite solvable group
2011
Abstract Suppose G is a finite solvable group, and H is a subgroup with a normal complement in G. We shall find necessary and sufficient conditions (some of which are related to the properties of coprime actions) for H to be an injector in G. We shall also use these criteria to find characterizations of injectors which need not have a normal complement.
Pronormal subgroups of a direct product of groups
2009
[EN] We give criteria to characterize abnormal, pronormal and locally pronormal subgroups of a direct product of two finite groups A×B, under hypotheses of solvability for at least one of the factors, either A or B.

Algebras of unbounded operators and physical applications: a survey
2009
After a historical introduction on the standard algebraic approach to quantum mechanics of large systems we review the basic mathematical aspects of the algebras of unbounded operators. After that we discuss in some details their relevance in physical applications.
Nonstochastic languages as projections of 2-tape quasideterministic languages
1998
A language L (n) of n-tuples of words which is recognized by a n-tape rational finite-probabilistic automaton with probability 1-e, for arbitrary e > 0, is called quasideterministic. It is proved in [Fr 81], that each rational stochastic language is a projection of a quasideterministic language L (n) of n-tuples of words. Had projections of quasideterministic languages on one tape always been rational stochastic languages, we would have a good characterization of the class of the rational stochastic languages. However we prove the opposite in this paper. A two-tape quasideterministic language exists, the projection of which on the first tape is a nonstochastic language.
Fixed point spaces, primitive character degrees and conjugacy class sizes
2006
Let G be a finite group that acts on a nonzero finite dimensional vector space V over an arbitrary field. Assume that V is completely reducible as a G-module, and that G fixes no nonzero vector of V. We show that some element g ∈ G has a small fixed-point space in V. Specifically, we prove that we can choose g so that dim C V (g) < (1/p)dim V, where p is the smallest prime divisor of |G|.
On the abnormal structure of finite groups
2014
We study finite groups in which every maximal subgroup is supersoluble or normal. Our results answer some questions arising from papers of Asaad and Rose.
