Amazon was the world’s top R&D firm in 2017. Its R&D investment was double that of 2015, quintuple that of 2012, and tenfold that of 2011. It deploys a unique R&D model as conducting “routine or periodic alternations” and “significant improvement” simultaneously. Since traditionally the former is classified as non-R&D, Amazon’s rapid and notable increase has raised the question of a new R&D definition in the digital economy. Employees Resistance Within a Knowledge Intensive Firm

The purpose of this article is to provide an empirical basis for understanding the issue of resistance within knowledge intensive firms. The paper initially provides a theoretical investigation identifying the research gap within the literature. The research gap further is explored through an empirical research. Research findings derive from the analysis of 11 in-depth interviews taken from a new media consultancy in UK. Moreover, the findings distinctively support that, staff resistance is beyond previously (traditional) assumed polar distinctions. Sono svolte alcune considerazioni, di carattere metodologico, ricavate dalla riflessione su quelle ricerche empiriche, che sono state svolte negli ultimi quaranta anni nelle scuole italiane, con una doppia connotazione: la collaborazione paritaria tra un ricercatore di didattica e gli insegnanti in servizio e l’intento esplicito di migliorare alcune competenze professionali dei docenti, con il conseguente impianto di innovazioni didattiche nella scuola.
