This paper explores management accountants’ role change in a multinational corporation. The theoretical framework of this interpretative study draws on institutional entrepreneurship that highlights the importance of agency and enables the theorization of institutional changes. According to our findings, projects on new cost accounting techniques and modern information technology (ERP) serve as critical momenta in the early stages of institutional entrepreneurship that drive changes in institutionalized professional roles. It describes the organizations involved in the system, outlining their responsibilities related to various aspects of the sector. When social enterprises, being defined by their social mission and profitability, internationalize, they need to\ud respond to institutional logics in the host country. By juxtaposing institutional logic and entry mode choice\ud literature, this paper shows how social enterprises accommodate different institutional logics when they enter\ud foreign markets. The parliamentary form of government, lacking adequate stabilizing elements, generates inefficiencies and institutional dysfunctions. The changes that it has undergone have determined new balances between powers, which favor the Executive, and, within this, the monocratic role of the President of the Council of Ministers. These changes highlight even more the need to carry out institutional reforms that rationalize the strengthening of the head of government, providing for suitable counterweights, and restructuring the relationship of trust in order to ensure its stability.
