The household codes in which we find the advices given to fathers are the exegetes’ focus of attention since the time of Reformation. From this period on, on the basis of various criteria, one tried to define the genre of household codes and set them apart as a separate body in the New Testament literature. Following the particular topic which regards the exhortations addressed to pater familias, we analyzed two fragments contained respectively in the Letter to Colossians and in the Letter to Ephesians. The aim of the present article is to present the typology of listening comprehension skills activated during Polish language lessons. What the author claims is that in Polish school two types of listening co-exist, namely: natural and activated. The former resembles conditions of natural communication, since a student assumes the role of text recipient, whereas the latter is a process of teaching the skills of listening comprehension. Based on questions and instructions elicited from selected school handbooks shows in what way the activated type of listening comprehension is taught as a part of Polish as a mother tongue lessons.
Is telephone follow-up useful in preventing post-extraction bleeding in patients on antithrombotic treatment?

Background The aim of the study was to investigate the usefulness of telephone follow-up in preventing post-extraction bleeding and improving wound healing in patients on chronic antithrombotic treatment. Material and methods A prospective randomized clinical trial was carried out on 256 patients (test group = 128; control group = 128). The exact two-tailed Fisher test and the two-tailed non-parametric Mann-Whitney test were used for statistical analysis. Results The incidence of post-extraction bleeding was 15.6% and there was no difference between test and control groups. The database contains information on 464 publicised British petitions (including petitions to parliament, instructions to members of parliament, and addresses to the Throne) and 65 replies, submitted in 1721 - 1776. Appendix 1 contains following information per petition: Year, location, subject, petitioners, receiver, replies, verbs defining petitioners' expectations, volume of published copies and sources. Appendix 2 contains following information per reply: Year, location, replier, position of the replier, recipient, position of the recipient, number of copies and sources.

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten opettaja antoiinstruktion ja palautteen verbaalista ja nonverbaalista viestintää käyttäen heterogeenisen kolmannen luokan liikuntatunneilla sekä miten hän opetusviestinnässään huomioi oppilaiden yksilöllisyyden ja ryhmässä ilmenevän häiriökäyttäytymisen. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, miten opettajan käyttämä opetusviestintä näyttäytyi oppilaiden toiminnassa liikuntatunneilla.
