Pestov identities and X-ray tomography on manifolds of low regularity

2021

We prove that the geodesic X-ray transform is injective on scalar functions and (solenoidally) on one-forms on simple Riemannian manifolds $(M,g)$ with $g \in C^{1,1}$. In addition to a proof, we produce a redefinition of simplicity that is compatible with rough geometry. This $C^{1,1}$-regularity is optimal on the H\"older scale. The bulk of the article is devoted to setting up a calculus of differential and curvature operators on the unit sphere bundle atop this non-smooth structure.

Transport equations and quasi-invariant flows on the Wiener space

2010

Abstract We shall investigate on vector fields of low regularity on the Wiener space, with divergence having low exponential integrability. We prove that the vector field generates a flow of quasi-invariant measurable maps with density belonging to the space L log L . An explicit expression for the density is also given.

Hyers-Ulam Stability of a Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equation on Time Scales

2020

We study Hyers-Ulam stability of a nonlinear Volterra integral equation on unbounded time scales. Sufficient conditions are obtained based on the Banach fixed point theorem and Bielecki type norm.

Integration of multifunctions with closed convex values in arbitrary Banach spaces

2018

Integral properties of multifunctions with closed convex values are studied. In this more general framework not all the tools and the technique used for weakly compact convex valued multifunctions work. We pay particular attention to the "positive multifunctions". Among them an investigation of multifunctions determined by vector-valued functions is presented. Finally, decomposition results are obtained for scalarly and gauge-defined integrals of multifunctions and a full description of McShane integrability in terms of Henstock and Pettis integrability is given.

Integral holomorphic functions

2004

We define the class of integral holomorphic functions over Banach spaces; these are functions admitting an integral representation akin to the Cauchy integral formula, and are related to integral polynomials. After studying various properties of these functions, Banach and Frechet spaces of integral holomorphic functions are defined, and several aspects investigated: duality, Taylor series approximation, biduality and reflexivity. In this paper we define and study a class of holomorphic functions over infinite- dimensional Banach spaces admitting integral representation. Our purpose, and the motivation for our definition, are two-fold: we wish to obtain an integral repre- sentation formula …

The perturbation classes problem for closed operators

2017

We compare the perturbation classes for closed semi-Fredholm and Fredholm operators with dense domain acting between Banach spaces with the corresponding perturbation classes for bounded semi-Fredholm and Fredholm operators. We show that they coincide in some cases, but they are different in general. We describe several relevant examples and point out some open problems.

Application of the ADR method for the evaluation of the scattering matrix of an open ended coaxial

2007

The use of ADR method for locating poles near the real axis is proposed when the scattering matrix for an open ended coaxial is analysed radiating over a multilayer structure ended in a perfect electrical wall. So a better and faster integral evaluation is made once the subintegral function behaviour is known.

2010), 285–306, 46Exx (46J10) It is known that each McShane integrable function is also Pettis integrable, while the reverse implication in general is not true. The equivalence of McShane and Pettis integrability depends on the target Banach space X and has been proven: by R. A. Gordon [Illinois J. MR2569913: Rodríguez, José. Some examples in vector integration. Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 80 (2009), no. 3, 384–392. (Reviewer: Luisa Di Piazza),

2009

The paper deals with some classical examples in vector integration due to Phillips, Hagler and Talagrand, revisited from the point of view of the Birkhoff and McShane integrals. More precisely, the author considers: - Phillips' example of a Pettis integrable function f which is not Birkhoff integrable [R. S. Phillips, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 47 (1940), 114--145; MR0002707 (2,103c)]. It is proved here that f is universally McShane integrable. - Hagler's example of a scalarly measurable l∞-valued function g which is not strongly measurable. The function g is proved to be universally Birkhoff integrable. - Talagrand's example of a bounded Pettis integrable function φ having no conditional expe…

The McShane, PU and Henstock integrals of Banach valued functions

2002

Some relationships between the vector valued Henstock and McShane integrals are investigated. An integral for vector valued functions, defined by means of partitions of the unity (the PU-integral) is studied. In particular it is shown that a vector valued function is McShane integrable if and only if it is both Pettis and PU-integrable. Convergence theorems for the Henstock variational and the PU integrals are stated. The families of multipliers for the Henstock and the Henstock variational integrals of vector valued functions are characterized.
