Abstract One of the most important application in bioinformatics is read mapping. With the rapidly increasing number of reads produced by next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, there is a need for fast and efficient high-throughput read mappers. In this paper, we present FMapper – a highly scalable read mapper on the TaihuLight supercomputer optimized for its fourth-generation ShenWei many-core architecture (SW26010). The non-destructive evaluation of defects by automatic procedures is of great importance for structural components. Thanks to the developments of the non-contact ultrasonic techniques, the automation of the inspections is gaining a progressively important role. In this work, an automatic inspection technique for the evaluation of defects by the analysis of B-scan images obtained by a laser ultrasonic system is presented. International audience; In this paper, we propose a complete pipeline for high quality reconstruction of dynamic objects using 2D-3D camera setup attached to a moving vehicle. Starting from the segmented motion trajectories of individual objects, we compute their precise motion parameters, register multiple sparse point clouds to increase the density, and develop a smooth and textured surface from the dense (but scattered) point cloud. A tool for the multisensory stylus-based exploration of virtual textures was used to investigate how different feedback modalities (static or dynamically deformed images, vibration, sound) affect exploratory gestures. To this end, we ran an experiment where participants had to steer a path with the stylus through a curved corridor on the surface of a graphic tablet/display, and we measured steering time, dispersion of trajectories, and applied force. We propose an intuitive and efficient resolution to the point matching problem within two frames of a sequence. This paper describes our experience in the simulation of humanoid soccer robots using two general purposes 3D simulators, namely USARSim and Microsoft Robotics Studio. We address the problem of the simulation of a soccer match among two teams of small humanoid robots in the RoboCup Soccer Kid-Size Humanoid competitions. The paper reports the implementation of the virtual models of the Robovie-M humanoid robot platform in the two simulators. Although the 3D environment is known, localizing the cameras remains a challenging problem that is particularly undermined by the unknown 2D-3D correspondences, outliers, scale ambiguities and occlusions.
