The article discusses the phenomenon of new media discourse permeating the language of written assignments produced in official school situations. The analysis of pupils’ essays concentrates on the colloquialisms transferred from social media discourse into the lexical layer of school writing. The author has assumed that the analysis will enable identifying educational barriers experienced by the new generation of pupils. The language of the texts under analysis combines the styles of written assignments, informal speech and of socialmedia discourse.

The purpose of this study is to describe the specificity of teaching Polish as a foreign language to Slovaks and Czechs (including the advantages and disadvantages resulting from language transfer), and to present the available teaching materials for Slovak and Czech students. The text includes an evaluation of the practical utility of different PFL textbooks designed for these groups and presents some suggestions for new teaching Solutions, such as the textbooks created at the Comenius University in Bratislava.
Fonētiskās un grafēmiskās grūtības spāņu vācu filoloģijas studentiem

Bakalaura darbā tiek aplūkotas fonētiskās un grafēmātiskās grūtības spāņu vācu filoloģijas studentiem. Darba mērķis, ar aptaujas palīdzību, ir noskaidrot, kādas grūtības konkrētu burtu un burtu kombināciju realizēšanā ir novērojamas spāņu vācu filoloģijas studentiem Mursijas Universitātē Spānija, un, balstoties uz iegūtajiem rezultātiem, izstrādāt jaunu mācību metodi, kas varētu palīdzēt šo problēmu risināšanā. No iegūtajiem rezultātiem tika noteiktas galvenās izrunas problēmu zonas un tika secināts, ka galvenais iemesls šajām fonētiskajām un grafēmiskajām grūtībām ir spāņu valodas interference, kas būtiski ietekmē izrunu vācu valodā. The impact of retro-cue validity on working memory representation: Evidence from electroencephalograms.

Visual working memory (VWM) performance can be improved by retrospectively cueing an item. The validity of retro-cues has an impact on the mechanisms underlying the retro-cue effect, but how non-cued representations are handled under different retro-cue validity conditions is not yet clear. Here, we used electroencephalograms to investigate whether retro-cue validity can affect the fate of non-cued representations in VWM. The participants were required to perform a change-detection task using a retro-cue with 80% or 20% validity. We describe a technique that allows control of visual stimuli quality through the use of a setup with a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film positioned in the optical pathway of one or both human eyes. Nowadays, PDLC films allow alteration of the resolution and contrast limits of the transmitted light due to continuous change in the light scattering that is obtained by the application of an AC electrical field.
