Pricing method as a tool for improved price perception

In the present paper, we have explored pricing methods applied to charging mobile service customers, and the influences of the charging methods on the customers’ price perceptions. The analyses are based on the empirical data collected from Finnish mobile service markets through a quantitative postal survey in 2003. Four hypotheses were tested separately in two customer segments for examining relationship of pricing methods and price perceptions, and the factors affecting to the customers’ pricing method choices. The broadcasting communication mode is widely used in Vehicular Ad~hoc Networks (VANETs). It is used for sending emergency messages, road-traffic information or to help routing protocols to determine routes. This communication mode is known to be hard to achieve efficiently since it depends on the network density. Indeed, broadcasting methods may cause network congestion if they are not well designed. This paper empirically investigates and characterizes users of recorded music, both downloaders and purchasers. To this end we analyse the role of the variables defining the different segments of music users. In doing so, we have considered two main traits influencing the use of music. First, objective variables such as demographics, music consumption habits, music genres and technology. Second, subjective variables such as motives and attitudes towards piracy.
