Calculation and inversion of two-dimensional gravity in the vicinity of Lake Tuz, Turkey

Abstract An example of gravity inversion and interpretation is presented which demonstrates how a priori information can be used to derive reliable, though complex models. In this case, the geometry of the studied model profile has been constructed on the basis of seismic and geological data. The densities used in the forward calculations were obtained from laboratory measurements of drill cores, from density-velocity relationships, and from Nettleton’s method of fitting gravity and topography. We developed a new scheme for joint and laterally constrained inversion (LCI) of magnetic resonance sounding (MRS) data and transient electromagnetic (TEM) data, which greatly improves the estimation of the MRS model parameters. During the last few decades, electrical and electromagnetic methods have been widely used for groundwater investigation, but they suffer from some inherent limitations; for example, equivalent layer sequences. Furthermore, the water content information is only empirically correlated to resistivity of the formation. Acoustic buoys were developed to allow the rapid determination of range-dependent bottom properties in a shallow water environment from the inversion of propagation measurements. The main features of the buoys are the large dynamic range, digital signal conditioning unit, global positioning system receiver and reliable radio data link. The buoys drift away from a broadband source receiving its pings at known positions. The objective of this study was to describe the spectrum of contrast-enhancement patterns of hepatic haemangiomas undetermined at grey-scale ultrasound (US) on SonoVue-enhanced pulse-inversion (PI) US. Twenty patients (11 women, nine men) with 35 haemangiomas (size range: 1-7 cm; mean: 3.1 cm) undetermined at baseline US underwent PI at low M.I. (0.05-0.08) after i.v. injection of SonoVue. SYSTOLIC GENERATION OF k-ARY TREES

The only parallel generating algorithms for k-ary trees are those of Akl and Stojmenović in 1996 and of Vajnovszki and Phillips in 1997. In the first of them, trees are represented by an inversion table and the processor model is a linear aray multicomputer. In the second, trees are represented by bitstrings and the algorithm executes on a shared memory multiprocessor. In this paper we give a parallel generating algorithm for k-ary trees represented by generalized P–sequences for execution on a linear array multicomputer.

The time course of face matching by internal and external features: Effects of context and inversion.

AbstractEffects of context and inversion were studied in face matching tasks by measuring proportion correct as a function of exposure duration. Subjects were instructed to attend either internal features (task A) or external features (task B) and matched two consecutive face stimuli, which included either congruent, incongruent, or no facial context features. In congruent contexts matching performance rose fast and took very similar courses for both types of facial features. The Paleozoic intracratonic North African Platform is characterized by an association of arches (ridges, domes, swells or paleo-highs) and low subsidence rate syncline basins of different wavelengths (75–620 km). The structural framework of the platform results from the accretion of Archean and Proterozoic terranes during the Pan-African orogeny (750–580 Ma).
