Analysis of four parabens and bisphenols A, F, S in urine, using dilute and shoot and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry

2018

Abstract A new strategy for the analysis of 4 parabens (methylparaben, ethyl paraben, propyl paraben and butyl paraben) and 3 bisphenols (A, F and S) in human urine has been developed. Dilute and shoot and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) determination was employed. Procedural matched calibration, certified materials and spiked samples were used for validation. The obtained recoveries varied between 85 and 104% with a precision lower than 20% for all analytes. The LOQ was 0.20 ng mL for all analytes. Negative atmospheric pressure chemical ionization in the selected reaction monitoring mode was used for MS detection. The proposed method was successfully applied f…

Validation of a confirmatory method for the determination of macrolides in liver and kidney animal tissues in accordance with the European Union regu…

2006

Abstract This study proposes a simple multiresidue liquid chromatography–diode array detector (LC–DAD) method capable of determining seven macrolide antibiotics in samples of liver and kidney animals at concentrations lower than those allowed by current legislation. Samples were prepared by homogenizing the tissue with EDTA–McIlvaine's buffer and extracted with an Oasis HLB cartridge. The consumption of organic solvent during extraction was minimum. The analytes were detected by LC–DAD and also by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization (LC–(ESI)MS). The method was specific, stable and robust enough for the required purposes. The DAD method was validated in acco…

Evaluation of analytical performance of gas chromatography coupled with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron reso…

2019

Abstract A new analytical method was established and validated for the analysis of eighteen halogenated flame retardants (HFRs)in food products. Gas chromatography (GC) coupled to Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) employing atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) was used for the identification and quantitation of contaminants. Intra-laboratory validation of the method was performed with respect to recovery, repeatability, linear calibration ranges, instrumental and method limits of quantitation (i-LOQ and m-LOQ), and trueness was verified where possible by analysis of reference materials (RMs). The validation results indicated recoveries of ana…

Low vacuum photo electron emitting thin films

2009

Impact ionisation is a standard procedure to ionise gaseous or vaporisable substances in organic mass spectrometry. In this work, a "softer" ionisation is introduced which seems to be an alternative ion source for reducing collision between substance molecules and the hot internal walls of the box. Through collision mainly found in impact ionisation sources, fragments are built especially from thermally sensitive substances falsifying the spectra. We present here photoelectron emitting materials for the soft ionisation using semiconducting compounds, galliumn nitride (GaN), and a representative of the borides, lanthanum hexaboride (LaB 6 ). They are evaluated by photoelectron spectroscopic …

Studies of narrow autoionizing resonances in gadolinium

2003

The autoionization (AI) spectrum of gadolinium between the first and second limits has been investigated by triple-resonance excitation with high-resolution cw lasers. A large number of narrow AI resonances have been observed and assigned total angular momentum J values. The resonances are further divided into members of AI Rydberg series converging to the second limit or other ''interloping'' levels. Fine structure in the Rydberg series has been identified and interpreted in terms of Jc j coupling. A number of detailed studies have been performed on the interloping resonances: These include lifetime determination by lineshape analysis, isotope shifts, hyperfine structure, and photoionizati…

Mycotoxin contamination in laboratory rat feeds and their implications in animal research

2016

Compound feed is particularly vulnerable to multi-mycotoxin contamination. A method for the determination of 12 mycotoxins; enniatins A, A1, B, B1; aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2; OTA; ZEA; T-2 and HT-2 by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry has been developed and applied for the analysis of laboratory rat commercial feeds. The method trueness was checked by recovery assays at three different spiked levels (n = 9). Recoveries ranged from 73% to 112%, and the intra-day and inter-day precision were lower than 9% and 13%, respectively. Limits of quantitation were lower than 15 μg/kg. Twenty-seven laboratory rats feed samples showed multi-contamination by at least three up to six differen…

Hyperbranched Polyglycerol-Based Lipids via Oxyanionic Polymerization: Toward Multifunctional Stealth Liposomes

2010

We describe the synthesis of linear-hyperbranched lipids for liposome preparation based on linear poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and hyperbranched polyglycerol (PG). Molecular weights were adjusted to values around 3000 g/mol with varying degrees of polymerization of the linear and the branched segments in analogy to PEG-based stealth lipids; polydispersities were generally low and below 1.3. The hydrophobic anchors were introduced into the lipid structures as initiators for the anionic polymerization of ethylene oxide and are either based on cholesterol or on different aliphatic glyceryl ethers. Complete incorporation of the apolar initiators was evidenced by MALDI-ToF analysis at all stages …

A highly enantioselective abiotic receptor for malate dianion in aqueous solution

2006

The highly enantioselective molecular recognition of the malate dianion by a synthetic receptor in aqueous solution has been studied by potentiometric titrations, mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), diffusion measurements (PGSE NMR) and molecular modeling. Solid state anion–π interactions involving polyhalides

2013

The stabilization of polyhalides in the solid state with the support of electron-deficient pentafluorophenyl groups is described. Furthermore, a synthetic approach towards the sensitive tetraiodide dianion is described and ESI mass spectrometric evidence for its presence in solution is reported.

Anion-Exchange Properties of Trifluoroacetate and Triflate Salts of N-Alkylammonium Resorcinarenes

2016

The synthesis of N-benzyl- and N-cyclohexylammonium resorcinarene trifluoroacetate (TFA) and triflate (OTf) salt receptors was investigated. Solid-state analysis by single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the N-alkylammonium resorcinarene salts (NARSs) with different upper substituents had different cavity sizes and different affinities for anions. Anion-exchange experiments by mixing equimolar amounts of N-benzylammonium resorcinarene trifluoroacetate and N-cyclohexylammonium resorcinarene triflate, as well as N-benzylammonium resorcinarene triflate and N-cyclohexylammonium resorcinarene trifluoroacetate showed that the NARS with flexible benzyl groups preferred the larger OTf anion…
