Evaluation of the Oxiris Membrane in Cardiogenic Shock Requiring Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Support: Study Protocol for a Single Center, Sin…

2021

Background: Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) is the rescue treatment proposed to patients with refractory cardiogenic shock. The VA-ECMO implantation promotes inflammation and ischemia-reperfusion injuries through the VA-ECMO flow, causing digestive mucosa barrier disrupture and inducing translocation of bacterial wall components—Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) with further inflammation and circulatory impairment. LPS is a well-studied surrogate indicator of bacterial translocation. Oxiris membrane is a promising and well-tolerated device that can specifically remove LPS. The main study aim is to compare the LPS elimination capacity of Oxiris membrane vs. a non-absorban…

Potential Roles of Muscle-Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Remodeling Cellular Microenvironment: Proposed Implications of the Exercise-Induced Myoki…

2021

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as key players of intercellular communication and mediate crosstalk between tissues. Metastatic tumors release tumorigenic EVs, capable of pre-conditioning distal sites for organotropic metastasis. Growing evidence identifies muscle cell-derived EVs and myokines as potent mediators of cellular differentiation, proliferation, and metabolism. Muscle-derived EVs cargo myokines and other biological modulators like microRNAs, cytokines, chemokines, and prostaglandins hence, are likely to modulate the remodeling of niches in vital sites, such as liver and adipose tissues. Despite the scarcity of evidence to support a direct relationship between muscle-EVs…

Morfina, alkohol, kokaina, czyli pomieszanie z poplątaniem w "Matce" Witkacego

2016

The object of this paper is to carry out a criticat anatysls of the epistemological foundations of those extralinguistic elements to which it is necessary to resort in order to give an account of communication, both intratinguistic and interlinguistic. The paint of view adopted is exclusively philosophical, within the field of problems of philosophy of language,…

Intrakraniālās aneirismas izvērtējums 3T magnētiskās rezonanses izmeklējumos

2019

Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Intrakraniālas aneirismas izvērtēšana 3T magnētiskās rezonanses izmeklējumos”. Tēmas aktualitāti pamato pieaugošais diagnosticēto aneirismu skaits un 3T magnētiskās rezonanses izmeklējuma pārliecinošā diagnostikas iespēja. Darba mērķis: noskaidrot izmantoto protokolu 3T magnētiskas rezonanses izmeklējumos intrakraniālas aneirismas diagnostikā. Pētniecības uzdevums – izpētīt izmeklējuma protokolu un salīdzināt to ar literatūras datiem. Pētījuma jautājums – kā atšķiras intrakraniālas aneirismas izmeklēšanas protokols 3T magnētiskās rezonanses izmeklējumā no literatūrā pieejamās informācijas par izmeklējuma protokolu? Pētījuma instruments – izmeklējuma protokols. Pētni…

The state-of-the-art of collaborative technologies for initial vocational education : a systematic literature review

2018

Future workplaces require collaboration skills in which members of different work communities use technologies to solve complex problems. Vocational education and training (VET) programs need to meet the challenge to prepare students to be part of a competent workforce. Particularly initial vocational education is under pressure to develop learners’ collaboration skills and abilities. To date, however, no attempt has been made to perform a comprehensive review of the use of computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) technologies across different vocational education settings to account for contextual factors of VET. In this systematic review, 26 published studies …
