Do aging employees benefit from self-regulative strategies? : A follow-up study

The workforce is aging rapidly, thus the age-conditional premises of SOC theory require attention. The aim of the present study was to test the validity of the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS; Tangney, Baumeister and Boone 2004) including its dimensional structure based on competing one- and two-factor models, discriminant validity from the conceptually-related self-discipline construct, invariance across multiple samples from different national groups, and predictive validity with respect to health-related behaviors. Tutkimme kahden vuoden seurantatutkimuksessa, miten muutosvoimavarat (viestintä, osallistuminen päätöksentekoon, muutostuki) ovat yhteydessä terveydenhuoltoalan henkilöstön työhyvinvointiin (työuupumus, työn imu) sekä työpaikan ja alanvaihtoaikeisiin organisaatiomuutoksen aikana. Tutkimukseen osallistui 303 sairaanhoitopiirin työntekijää, joista 87 prosenttia oli naisia ja potilastyössä toimivia 74 prosenttia.
