This case study presents the results of an interdisciplinary Virtual Exchange (VE) that was arranged between Finnish and Polish students in 2019. During their six-week collaboration, the students of language studies at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, worked in teams together with their Polish peers specialising in information and communications technology and management in tourism at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. Toista maailmasotaa seuranneiden vuosikymmenten aikana ihmisten liikkuvuus lisääntyi merkittävästi kietoutuen yhteen laajentuvan korkeakoulutuksen kanssa. Käsittelemme tässä artikkelissa kansainvälisiä stipendiohjelmia ja opetusministeriön roolia Suomen sodan jälkeisessä kansainvälistymisessä. Tarkemmin sanottuna tarkastelemme suomalaisen opiskelijavaihdon kehittymistä kylmän sodan kehikossa, erityisesti opetusministeriön ja ulkoministeriön näkökulmasta. Pro gradu -työni on toimeksiantona tehty AIESEC Jyväskylän 40-vuotishistoria. Järjestön historiaa tarkastellaan arkistolähteiden ja alumnien haastattelujen pohjalta. AIESEC perustettiin 1948 rauhanaatteen pohjalle luomaan ymmärrystä kulttuurien välille kansainvälisen harjoitteluvaihdon avulla. AIESEC Jyväskylä perustettiin 1969 osaksi Jyväskylän yliopiston taloustieteiden ainejärjestöä Pörssi ry:tä, ja sen toiminta oli suunnattu taloustieteilijöille. Measuring higher-order cognitive skills with multiple choice questions:potentials and pitfalls of Finnish teacher education entrance

This mixed methods study examines the structure of the multiple-choice exam for student selection in Finnish teacher education. Through qualitative content analysis, we categorized multiple-choice ques-tions into items that assessed lower-and higher-order cognitive processes based on the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses yielded four factors that represented lower-and higher-order cognitive processing skills and comprehension of empirical and theoretical items. International audience; Large differences in COVID-19 death rates exist between countries and between regions of the same country. Some very low death rate countries such as Eastern Asia, Central Europe, or the Balkans have a common feature of eating large quantities of fermented foods. Although biases exist when examining ecological studies, fermented vegetables or cabbage have been associated with low death rates in European countries. SARS-CoV-2 binds to its receptor, the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). Dissemination of a Carbapenem-Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Strain Belonging to International Clone II/Sequence Type 2 and Harboring a Novel AbaR…

ABSTRACT An outbreak of hospital-acquired Acinetobacter baumannii infections, caused by a bla OXA-23 -positive carbapenem-resistant strain belonging to international clone II/ST2, was detected in Latvia. The strain was partially equipped with the armA gene and the intI1-aacA4-catB8-aadA1-qacE Δ 1 class 1 integron. In addition, the strain carried AbaR25, a novel AbaR4-like resistance island of ∼46,500 bp containing structures similar to the previously described AbaR22 and Tn 6167 islands. AbaR25 was characterized by the occurrence of a second copy of Tn 6022a interrupted by Tn 2006 carrying the bla OXA-23 gene.

Understanding Earth system dynamics in light of ongoing human intervention and dependency remains a major scientific challenge. The unprecedented availability of data streams describing different facets of the Earth now offers fundamentally new avenues to address this quest. However, several practical hurdles, especially the lack of data interoperability, limit the joint potential of these data streams.
