Tämä pro gradu -työ käsittelee journalismia Venäjällä. Tutkielmassa keskitytään erityisesti journalistin yhteiskunnallisen roolin ja journalismietiikan tarkasteluun. Aineistona ovat moskovalaisten journalistiopiskelijoiden teemahaastattelut, jotka on kerätty helmikuussa 2012 Moskovan valtionyliopiston (MGU) journalismin tiedekunnassa. Etic and emic data production methods in the study of journalistic work practices: A systematic literature review

This methodological paper discusses the application of etic and emic perspectives in producing data sets for the study of journalistic praxis. The concepts refer to the researcher-analyst’s and the practitioner-informant’s viewpoints, respectively, and that being the case, they have inherent weaknesses if used independently. We argue that these shortcomings can be mitigated through an integrated application of the concepts and by seeing the two perspectives as complementary to each other. In this article we describe various ways in which power is exercised between personnel in a hospital operating theatre. We aim to investigate how the forms of discursive power and workplace learning are intertwined with each other by utilizing an ethnographic approach in the fieldwork. Our data were collected mainly through observations and interviews with surgical residents, physicians and nurses. Joukkoviestimien siirryttyä Internetiin niiden yleisölle on tarjoutunut mahdollisuus kommentoida uutisia verkossa. Verkkokeskustelua valvotaan eli moderoidaan: moderaattori tarkastaa sivulle lähetetyt viestit ja päättää, julkaistaanko ne vai ei. Tutkimuksessa vertaillaan, miten kolme eri verkossa toimivaa suomalaista mediataloa moderoi viestejään ja mitä samankaltaisuuksia sekä eroavaisuuksia toimitusten moderointikäytännöissä on. Yle Uutiset, Iltalehti ja Kaleva kaikki ylläpitävät suosittuja verkkosivustoja, joilla käydään aktiivista keskustelua. Tämä tutkimus tarkastelee Yleisradion urheilu-uutisten representoimaa kuvaa naisurheilijoista. Haluan tutkimuksessani tarkastella sitä, miten kulttuurista nousevat ennakko-oletukset ja stereotypiat vaikuttavat journalistiseen lopputuotteeseen urheilujournalismin saralla. Valitsin tutkimusaiheen kolmesta syystä. Ensimmäinen syy on se, että median vaikutus ja suhde urheiluun on itsessään mielenkiintoinen aihe. Israelin ja palestiinalaisten vuosikymmeniä jatkunut konflikti työllistää ulkomaantoimittajia vuodesta toiseen. Kytevä konflikti leimahtelee aika ajoin, ja sitä seurataan eurooppalaisessa mediassa tarkasti. Konfliktiin liittyy myös paljon intohimoja, ja uutisointia syytetään usein puolueellisuudesta. Leimaavaa kuitenkin on, että puoltoa nähdään yhtä aikaa molempiin suuntiin.
