Faced with intensifying competition for scientific impact measured in terms of citation counts, small disciplines are challenged to prove their importance as they lack the critical mass to accumulate large numbers of citations. This paper demonstrates that by emphasizing theoretical and methodological rigor even small disciplines such as business history can be competitive. Yet it still appears that readers of business history articles first and foremost seek interesting and useful subject matter, i.e. ‘best’ stories that can be used as background information and as tools in comparisons. During the Second World War, not only the United States but also Great Britain played a leading role in planning and establishing the United Nations (UN) as a new international organisation to replace the League of Nations. While scholarship on post‐war planning is extensive, relatively little exists on how the planning process was discussed and depicted publicly in Britain. The purpose of this article is to fill such lacunae by examining the two most important domains for public discussion at the time, the press and parliament. Näitä mediarepresentaatioita eli mediaesityksiä tarkastellaan konstruktivistisesta näkökulmasta. Tutkimuksen teoria nojaa feministiseen politiikan tutkimukseen sekä feministiseen mediatutkimukseen. Open strategizing on social media: A process model of emotional mechanisms and outcomes from un-orchestrated participation

This study extends the discussion on open strategizing by following the development of unlimited participation in an ex-ante city merger case where participation was not orchestrated. The findings unravel how the aggregation of emotional expressions on social media results in an escalating conflict, and initiates attempts to mitigate grounded in decision-makers’ reflexiveness of social becoming(s). We theorize three emotional mechanisms – acceleration of emotional interaction, reinforcement of hostility as a discursive norm, and emotional empowerment – and outcomes originating from uncontrolled dynamics of inclusion and transparency. Stakeholder theory (SHT) emphasizes that different stakeholders and their interests need to be identified and addressed to maximize firm performance. This emphasis can make the design of performance measurement systems (PMS) challenging because the interests of stakeholders are often in conflict. Based on previous research and using stakeholder and resource dependency theories, we develop a theoretical model suggesting that resource dependency acts as a “filter” in selecting which of the PMS design measures are emphasized for decision making. Tämä maisterintutkielma on tapaustutkimus, jossa tarkastellaan syksyllä 2014 alkaneen viskikohun leimahduksen elinkaarta. Elinkaaren rakentamiseksi eritellään julkisen leimahduksen vaiheet, niissä vallinneet tunnetilat ja merkittävimmät sitouttamisen tavat. Samalla selvitetään, osoittiko kohu merkkejä uudesta leimahduksesta noin vuoden aikana. Tutkielman yhtenä tärkeimmistä viitekehyksistä toimii Aulan ja Åbergin (2012) teoria leimahtavien julkisuuksien elinkaaresta. Una de las obras más emblemáticas de la etapa de los socialistas en el Gobierno de la Generalitat, en los años 80, es la creación del Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno IVAM Centre Julio González. El proyecto nace de la idea del conseller de Cultura, Educación y Ciencia, Ciprià Císcar Casabán, de dotar de una red de museos a la Comunidad Valenciana: el San Pio V, el IVAM, y el Centro del Carmen para exposiciones actuales, entre otros proyectos culturales.
