Robust H∞ filtering for networked control systems with markovian jumps and packet dropouts

2014

Published version of an article in the journal: Modeling, Identification and Control. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.4173/mic.2014.3.3 Open Access This paper deals with the H∞ filtering problem for uncertain networked control systems. In the study, network-induced delays, limited communication capacity due to signal quantization and packet dropout are all taken into consideration. The finite distributed delays with probability of occurrence in a random way is introduced in the network. The packet dropout is described by a Bernoulli process. The system is modeled as Markovian jumps system with partially known transition probabilities. A full-order filter is designe…

Robot Retrofitting by Using LinuxCNC Complemented with Arduino/RaspberryPI

2020

The use of robots for any manufacturing process is present in almost every industry nowadays. Nevertheless, automating the manufacturing process has always been a challenge for every one of them due to costs and complexity of adding this kind of automation. Acquiring robotic equipment in a concentrated market where the vendors have locked-in their clients can be expensive. In addition to this, the development of intern-factory made solutions has a very steep learning curve and it is not easily achievable. Due to these barriers small and medium size players can’t easily jump into this revolution.

Diffusive Modeling of Aggradation and Degradation in Artificial Channels

2008

The unsteady flow and solid transport simulation problem in artificial channels is solved using a three-equation model, coupled with a local erosion law. The three equations are the water mass and momentum balance equations, as well as the total solid load balance equation. It is shown that even during severe hydrological events inertial terms can be neglected in the momentum equation without any substantial change in the solution sought. Empirical equilibrium formulas were used to estimate the solid load as a function of the flow variables. Local erosion, due to the scour generated at the jump between two channels connected at different bottom elevations, was estimated adapting a literatur…

A Comparison and Survey of Finite Difference Methods for Pricing American Options Under Finite Activity Jump-Diffusion Models

2012

Partial-integro differential formulations are often used for pricing American options under jump-diffusion models. A survey on such formulations and numerical methods for them is presented. A detailed description of six efficient methods based on a linear complementarity formulation and finite difference discretizations is given. Numerical experiments compare the performance of these methods for pricing American put options under finite activity jump models.

Tipizētās JavaScript valodas izmantošana tīmekļa lietojumprogrammu izstrādei

2015

Three-Dimensional Kinematics during the Take-Off Phase in Competitive Long Jumping

2013

The purpose of the present study was to identify the relationships among selected kinematic variables that affect the take-off phase and performance in elite jumpers. The jump distance was found to be related to: I) the athlete's approach speed before the instant of touch down; and ii) the exchange in spatial velocity components at take-off, which results in a gain in maximum vertical velocity of the centre of mass (CM), favoured by the use of an optimum touch-down angle of the take-off leg, an active landing of the foot at touch-down, and a motion of the take-off leg during the compression phase that helps to manage the loss of horizontal velocity. Nonetheless, the results show that an ad…

Cytogenetic characterization of HB2 epithelial cells from the human breast.

2014

HB2 is a cell line originated by subcloning of MTSV1-7 mammary luminal epithelial cells isolated from human milk and immortalization via introduction of the gene encoding simian virus 40 (SV40) large T antigen. Despite its wide utilization as non-neoplastic counterpart in assays aimed to elucidating various biochemical and genetical aspects of normal and tumoral breast cells, to our knowledge no literature data have so far appeared concerning the chromosomal characterization of the HB2 cells. Here, we report the cytogenetic characterization of the karyotype of HB2 cells, which puts in evidence the occurrence of changes in chromosomal number and structure and the presence of unidentified chr…

Weak convergence to the coalescent in neutral population models

1999

For a large class of neutral population models the asymptotics of the ancestral structure of a sample of n individuals (or genes) is studied, if the total population size becomes large. Under certain conditions and under a well-known time-scaling, which can be expressed in terms of the coalescence probabilities, weak convergence in D E ([0,∞)) to the coalescent holds. Further the convergence behaviour of the jump chain of the ancestral process is studied. The results are used to approximate probabilities which are of certain interest in applications, for example hitting probabilities.
