Comparing the applicability of two learning theories for knowledge transfer in information system implementation training

This study reviews two traditional learning theories from the viewpoint of knowledge transfer in information system implementation training. The main goal of this study is to determine which is more applicable from the view of knowledge transfer in this context. In this study, behaviourist learning theory is found suitable for the transfer of data and information. Being more learner-centered, constructivist learning theory suits better for information system implementation training, as it enables combining system specific knowledge with knowledge of the existing organisational processes. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the use of knowledge transfer (KT) mechanisms in a franchise network.Design/methodology/approachThis study uses qualitative and grounded theory techniques to collect and analyze data from a franchise network based in Africa. Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) are the main institutions responsible for the establishment of university–industry partnerships. R&D contracts exemplify the indirect mechanisms through which enterprises and universities collaborate on a win–win basis. Bibliometric analysis of absorptive capacity

Abstract This study contributes to our understanding of absorptive capacity (AC) by reviewing AC articles systematically using two types of blibliometric co-citation analysis – bibliometric co-citation and bibliometric cartography – for the last 25 years. In total, we analyzed 336 articles (using HistCite ) and 2088 articles (using VOSviewer ), respectively, finding five research streams in AC: (1) intra-organizational learning; (2) inter-organizational learning; (3) knowledge transfer; (4) dynamic capability; and (5) micro-foundations. Dystopia deconstructed: Applying the triple helix model to a failed utopia

This study analyzes the failure of a literary utopian system—Veronica Roth's Divergent—drawing from difference, which the divergent and the factionless represent. The analysis of the causes and consequences of difference from a socioeconomic perspective reveals a system that the triple helix model can improve.
