Personality and temperament embrace a wide area of both psychological and behavioral processes which are also based on disposition. A functional polymorphism in exon III of the dopamine D4 receptor gene (DRD4) has been a highly suspect genetic marker for personality in spite of ambiguous results. The present study aimed to further elucidate the relationship between DRD4, negative life events and personality in a representative nonclinical sample. Hundred sixty-seven Germans completed the NEO Five-Factor Inventory, the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire and the California Adult Q-Sort. Objective: The Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scales (CAARS) assess symptoms specific to adults that are frequently used and have been translated into German. The current study tests the factor structure of the CAARS in a large sample of German adults with ADHD and compares the means of the CAARS subscales with those of healthy German participants. Method: CAARS were completed by 466 participants with ADHD and 851 healthy control participants. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to establish model fit with the American original. Introduction: the rise in the number of older, frail adults necessitates that future doctors are adequately trained in the skills of geriatric medicine. Few countries have dedicated curricula in geriatric medicine at the undergraduate level. The aim of this project was to develop a consensus among geriatricians on a curriculum with the minimal requirements that a medical student should achieve by the end of medical school. Artykuł stanowi omówienie propozycji bloku zajęć adresowanych do studentów obcojęzycznych, którego celem jest wzmocnienie kompetencji językowych, ale także przybliżenie sylwetek kilku znaczących reprezentantów polskiej sceny muzycznej: Czesława Niemena, Agnieszki Osieckiej, Wojciecha Młynarskiego, Kabaretu Starszych Panów. W założeniu ma to służyć podniesieniu motywacji cudzoziemców do nauki języka polskiego. Jaunās Latvijas valsts apstākļos, pie citiem idejiskajiem uzstādījumiem un sabiedriskās iekārtas, tā izveidojās ļoti atšķirīga, nekā bijusi iepriekšējā vēstures posmā. Jebkura sabiedrība kurā dzīvo vairāk nekā vienas etniskās kultūras pārstāvji noris akulturācijas procesi. Arī Latvijas valsts ar savām divām lielajām lingvistiskajām grupām krievvalodīgajiem un latviešiem nav izņēmums. Autors ir dziļāk izpētījis Džona Berija (Berry, 1997)divvirzienu vairākdimensiju akulturācijas modeli. Autora darba mērķis bija noskaidrot latviešu un krievvalodīgo akulturācijas attieksmes, kā arī uztvertās ārgrupas attieksmes un pārbaudīt to savstarpējās attiecības. Tutkielman aiheena on tietokoneharrastajien alakulttuuri, jota kutsutaan Amigaskeneksi. Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan ensinnäkin niitä kulttuurin ja tietotekniikan puitteita, joiden viitekehyksessä tietokone harrastajat toimivat. Alakulttuurina Amigaskene sijoittuu yhtäältä sitä ympäröivien kulttuurien, kuten vallitsevan yhteiskunnan ja Amigaskeneä edeltävän skene-alakulttuurin, kehiin ja toisaalta Amigan mahdollistamaan tietotekniseen viitekehykseen.
