Jebkura sabiedrība kurā dzīvo vairāk nekā vienas etniskās kultūras pārstāvji noris akulturācijas procesi. Arī Latvijas valsts ar savām divām lielajām lingvistiskajām grupām krievvalodīgajiem un latviešiem nav izņēmums. Autors ir dziļāk izpētījis Džona Berija (Berry, 1997)divvirzienu vairākdimensiju akulturācijas modeli.
