Optical Monitoring of Microplastics Filtrated from Wastewater Sludge and Suspended in Ethanol.

The abundance of microplastics (MPs) in the atmosphere, on land, and especially in water bodies is well acknowledged. In this study, we establish an optical method based on three different techniques, namely, specular reflection to probe the medium, transmission spectroscopy measurements for the detection and identification, and a speckle pattern for monitoring the sedimentation of MPs filtrated from wastewater sludge and suspended in ethanol. We used first Raman measurements to estimate the presence and types of different MPs in wastewater sludge samples. We also used microscopy to identify the shapes of the main MPs. Sydämen vajaatoiminta on kasvava terveysongelma. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, soveltuuko Firstbeat Technologies oy:n sykemittaukseen perustuva Hyvinvointianalyysi välineeksi unitutkimukseen tai unen laadun tutkimiseen terveydenhuollon ja kuntoutuksen tarpeisiin. Hyvinvointiana-lyysin antamia Stressi- ja voimavararaportteja verrattiin univaiheluokitukseen ja muihin yleisesti käytettyihin, EEG-rekisteröintiin perustuviin tunnuslukuihin. Tutkimuksessa oli 14 tervettä, normaalisti nukkuvaa, 18-31-vuotiasta koehenki-löä, joista 5 miehiä ja 9 naisia. Heidät jaettiin kahteen ryhmään. Fault-proneness of open source software: Exploring its relations to internal software quality and maintenance process

The goal of this study is to explore how fault-proneness of open source software (OSS) could be explained in terms of internal quality attributes and maintenance process metrics. We reviewed earlier studies and performed a multiple case study of eight Java-based projects based on data available in the Source Forge repository. Overall, we studied 342 re- leases of those systems. As is usual, software quality was regarded as a set of internal and external quality attributes. Quality Management in Service Desk : How Does Service Desk Managers Define and Measure Quality

Many public and private sector organisations are depending on IT services provided by external service providers. The quality of the service affects the customer satisfaction and consequently the customer behaviour. The concept of quality has many meanings in the literature. In this paper, we study how service desk managers perceive the concept of quality and how to manage it in an organisation which has adopted ITIL. Our findings indicate that the quality is seen only in terms of how the agreed service levels are achieved. This view excludes the quality of the processes used to deliver IT services. Video lectures bring flexibility and enable distance learning in education. With the help of videos, educational organizations are able to serve a wider and more heterogeneous group of students. As streaming videos have become essential part of teaching in higher education, quality of service (QoS) issues should be taken more into consideration.
