Lasīšanas prasmju un iemaņu attīstīšana ietver vairākas lingvistikas dimensijas, tāpēc efektīvu valodas mācību materiālu izstrāde ir ļoti svarīga, lai apgūtu lasītprasmi. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai ievērojamu izdevniecību mācību materiāli atbilst lasītprasmes attīstības teorētiskajam ietvaram. Kā līdzeklis pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai tiek izmantota B1/Intermediate līmeņa mācību materiālu uzdevumu kvalitatīvā teorētiskā pamatojuma analīze. Kirjallisuuden hyödyntäminen kieltenopetuksessa Suomessa on ollut suhteellisen vähäistä. Kirjallisuuden käyttö kielten opetuksessa tarjoaa kuitenkin enemmän hyötyjä kuin haasteita. Kielen oppimisen lisäksi kirjallisuuden käytöllä voidaan edistää laajempia opetussuunnitelman mukaisia tavoitteita esimerkiksi ihmisenä kasvua. In Catalonia, in a short period of time, statistics have raised from the 1% recorded ten years ago to the current 13% of students of foreign’s origin. This change has increased linguistic diversity regarding student’s background. However, more than a 50% are from Hispanic origin and the majority have Spanish as their mother tongue. In this case, and strictly from a linguistic point of view, the linguistic immersion programs used in Catalonia to teach Catalan to Spanish students maintain their validity. This thesis proposes a model for young children's foreign language learning with a focus on fun and playfulness as well as emotional needs. The model is based on a wide range of literature on children's development, education, and foreign language learning specifically. Foreign language teachers are surveyed to discover their current practices. This data is analysed and compared to the proposed model. The study finds many teachers already follow many of the principles of the proposed model in their everyday practice. Diplomdarbs „Literāro tekstu izmantošana vācu valodas kā svešvalodas stundās vidusskolā” ir veltīts skolēnu lasīšanas spēju attīstībai vācu valodas stundās, izmantojot literāros tekstus. Tēmas izvēle ir pamatota ar to, ka literatūras nelasīšana ir bieži sastopama parādība mūsdienu pusaudžu vidū. Tādēļ mūsdienu svešvalodu pedagogu mērķis ir ne tikai attīstīt bērna lasītprasmi, bet arī veicināt skolēnu interesi par lasīšanu. Darba gaitā tika izpētīta zinātniskā un metodiskā literatūra, atlasīti atbilstoši literārie teksti, izstrādāti stundu plāni un veikta pedagoģiskā izmēģinājumdarbība.
