Valencian Network of Educational Innovation in Optics

[EN] The Valencian Network of Educational Innovation in Optics consists of three groups from the Universitat de València, Universitat Jaume I, and Universitat Politècnica de València. The participants in the network present an extensive background on performing actions to improve teaching practice. They have been involved for years in scientific outreach activities and in a number of educational innovation projects, which have developed innovative teaching materials. With the aim of sharing their experience and enhance their performance, the three groups have decided to join forces to become a Network of Educational Innovation whose main projects are described in this communication.

Since its development at the end of 19th century, Latvian national costume has become a symbol of national identity. The task of this article is to trace how the publications of ethnographers during the 20th century shaped the view of Latvian national costume. The appearance of national costume was influenced by the growing knowledge of the national cultural heritage. Although national costume resembling ethnographic examples was recognized as highly authentic, in reality it was a reconstruction created by museum staff and other ethnographic researchers. The WFOT strikes back!

In October 2014 I was elected President of the WFOT. I want to thank here the support of Dr. Lamberto Re, Professor Nabil Mawsof and Dr. Mark Weisser, that encouraged to me assume this task. Six society members and 20 individual members from 10 more countries were awaiting to grow. Our bylaws, written 9 years before, were not adapted to the current worldwide situation of the ozone therapy; even inside WFOT, some situations needed formalization, so updating the bylaws was a mandatory task.

Abstract In the current economic environment, innovation is a common characteristic of both services and manufacturing enterprises. In the tourism sector innovation has become compulsory in the quest to achieve long term competitiveness. However, innovation is seldom assessed even after being integrated in the daily routine of tourism enterprises. The purpose of this article is to study the degree to which innovation is implemented in the Romanian hospitality industry by analyzing hotel managers’ perception on various types of innovations. The results offer an image on how innovative the hospitality industry is and on how innovation is fostered and achieved.

Emotion recognition ability has been introduced as a core component of emotional competence. Every emotion has different ways to be expressed such as text, speech, lyrics etc. This paper reflects the current experimental study and their outcomes on emotion detection from different textual data. In case of lexicon-based analysis, the position of emotional lexicons really varies the state of an emotion. Abstract Objectives To investigate the associations for one-year changes in cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and body mass index, with psychological difficulties status in adolescents. Methods Norwegian 14-15-year-olds (n = 925) participated in data collection at two time points separated by one year. Psychological difficulties were assessed via the Strengths and Difficulties questionnaire and data from follow-up serve as the dependent variable. Daugavpils (Latvia) and Narva (Estonia) are cities in the Baltic States and signifi cant cultural and economic centres of their respective countries. These cities are characterized by a minority of nationals (19.8% of residents of Daugavpils are Latvian, 4% of residents of Narva are Estonian) and a similar linguistic situation: there is a dominance of Russian in the press, television and radio, but the state language prevails in the urban language signs.The aim of the study is to analyse the linguistic and extralinguistic means used for the creation of ergonyms of educational and cultural spheres.
