Laser therapy as treatment for oral paresthesia arising from mandibular third molar extraction

Oral paresthesia is a localized condition of sensory abnormality that occurs in the presence of injury in one of the nerves in the region after certain dental procedures. The aim of this study was to present a case report of a patient who received low-level laser therapy as treatment for inferior alveolar nerve paresthesia due to mandibular third molar extraction surgery. A 25-year-old female patient reported lack of sensitivity for 6 months in various regions of the bucomaxillofacial complex after surgery. Aim To evaluate testes after unilateral orchiopexy Laser Doppler and white light spectroscopy and compare microcirculation with contralaterat testis and healthy controls. Methods A combination of the laser Doppler (determination of blood flow) and white light spectroscopy (determination of oxygen saturation and hemoglobin amount) is used to determine microcirculation at two different depth levels non-invasively. Patients were recruited after unilateral orchiopexy. Controls were age-matched boys without relevant disease. Ethical approval was obtained. Phosphodiesterase10A: abundance and circadian regulation in the retina and photoreceptor of the rat.

Phosphodiesterase10A (PDE10A) is a dual specific cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase that is specifically enriched in striatum and which has gained attention as a therapeutic target for psychiatric disorders. The present study shows that PDE10A is also highly expressed in retinal neurons including photoreceptors. The levels of PDE10A transcript and protein display daily rhythms which could be seen in preparations of the whole retina. Corresponding changes in PDE10A mRNA were seen in photoreceptors isolated using laser microdissection. Evaluating resurfacing modalities in aesthetics.

Abstract Skin resurfacing for cutaneous rejuvenation has evolved with the development of a plethora of nonsurgical and minimally invasive modalities. We have highlighted the advances in laser therapy, chemical peels, radiofrequency, microneedling, and platelet-rich plasma therapy. We have also included studies providing head-to-head comparisons between procedures and discussed relevant debates in the field. We have examined additionally combination treatments and resurfacing in acne scars, melasma, and skin of color.

Changes in Pupil Area during Low-energy Femtosecond Laser-assisted Cataract Surgery

Purpose: To study the potential changes in pupil area within low-energy femtosecond-laser assisted cataract surgery (FLACS). Methods: A retrospective assessment of the pupil size was performed in the eyes undergoing FLACS using the Ziemer LDV Z8. We measured the pupil diameters as part of the images taken preoperatively and at the completion of laser pretreatment (after releasing the suction). We calculated the pupil area in 40 eyes of 40 patients (14 right and 26 left eyes). The mean ± standard deviation (SD) of age of the patients was 74 ± 7.4 years (range: 51-87). Effects of a low-power He-Ne laser on the healing of experimental colon anastomoses: our experience

Despite technical advances, the incidence of anastomotic leaks in elective colorectal surgery remains around 14%. Recent studies suggest that the use of low-energy lasers may enhance wound healing in different tissues in a selective, nondestructive manner.
