Phylogenetic relationships of the Italian populations of Horseshoe Whip Snake Hemorrhois hippocrepis (Serpentes, Colubridae)

Hemorrhois hippocrepis is a colubrid snake with a West Mediterranean distribution. It is widespread in the Iberian Peninsula and Northwest Africa. The only Italian populations are found on the islands of Sardinia and Pantelleria. The phylogenetic relationships of these insular populations have been analysed for the first time on the basis of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome b gene. The sequences were compared with those available from the geographic range of this species. The analyses showed that the Italian samples are part of a lineage that groups Tunisian and East Algerian samples, with which they share the same haplotype. Troballa d’una població de Quickella arenaria (Potiez & Michaud, 1835) (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Succineidae) a Castella-la Manxa (Espanya) Després de l’estudi d’un gran nombre de surgències a la província de Conca (Espanya) es comunica la troballa, per primera vegada a Castella-la Manxa, del gasteròpode succineid Quickella arenaria, poc conegut a Espanya. A més a més s’assenyalen les amenaces que suporta la població al lloc on viu i se’n proposa la conservació.

Evaluación y clasificación de las revistas científicotécnicas españolas de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte

En este artículo se evalúan y clasifican las revistas españolas de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte (CCAFD), atendiendo a su calidad global. Para ello se aplica un modelo de evaluación, validado con anterioridad, que combina 23 indicadores relativos a diferentes características de las revistas (formales, de contenido científico y difusión). De esta manera pueden clasificarse las publicaciones periódicas en cuatro categorías de calidad: ‘muy alta’, ‘alta’, ‘media’ y ‘baja’. The problem under study is as follows: digital collections have insufficient usability due to lack of appropriate e-services. The empirical basis for research is e-services of digital collections created by national and regional level libraries, as well as the National Archives of Latvia. [EN] The present annotated checklist has been elaborated after revision of preserved materials (from the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Madrid and the reference collection of the Marine Biology Laboratory of the University of Valencia) and published literature related to capitellids from the Iberian Peninsula, Chafarinas, Balearic and Canary Islands. Twenty-four species and subspecies belonging to thirteen genera are recognized as valid taxa. With this checklist we include some taxonomic details and information on distribution at both global and regional levels. This work includes the setal formula and diagrammatic representation of capitellid taxa treated in this study.
Yet another alien: a second species of Lepisiota spreading across the Canary Islands, Spain (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

The Canary Islands are a biologically important archipelago hosting many unique species, whose myrmecofauna is peculiarly rich in both endemic and introduced species. Lepisiota frauenfeldi cfr. kantarensis Forel, 1911 is reported for the first time from Fuerteventura and Tenerife. It is the second species of Lepisiota introduced in the archipelago in the last few years, and one of the few documented cases in which Lepisiota frauenfeldi (Mayr, 1855) s.l. acts as a successful tramp species.
