Tässä artikkelissa tutkimme suomalaisten englanninopettajien käsityksiä maahanmuuttajaoppilaista, joilla on monikielinen tausta, vieraan kielen luokkahuoneessa. Aiemmat tutkimukset monikielisistä oppijoista ovat keskittyneet toisen kielen oppimiseen tai oppijan äidinkieleen. Tässä tutkimuksessa keskitymme englantiin vieraana kielenä, sillä maailma on aiempaa monikielisempi ja liikkuvuus yleisempää kuin ennen. Syntactic complexity in Finnish-background EFL learners’ writing at CEFR levels A1–B2

Eurooppalaisen viitekehyksen (EVK) merkitys kielikoulutukselle on lisännyt tutkimusta sen taitotasojen kielellisistä piirteistä; tarkempi tieto näistä piirteistä auttaisi EVK:n soveltamista opetusmateriaalien, kurssien ja arviointin laatimiseen. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin eroavatko EVK:n tasot toisistaan syntaksin kompleksisuuden perusteella. Suomalaiset 14- ja 17-vuotiaat englannin oppijat (N=379) kirjoittivat kolme kirjoitelmaa, jotka arvioitiin EVK:n taitotasoille. Arviointiaineisto tutkittiin monitahoisella Rasch-analyysillä ja tekstien piirteet selvitettiin automaattisilla analyysiohjelmilla. Twenty-one deaf and 24 hearing candidates of Highway Code were involved in a decision-making task. Four types of driving situations (overtaking, insertion on roundabout, insertion on highway and crossing an intersection) from which participants have to decide to go or not to go were presented in two different formats (static vs animated) and in two level of difficulty (simple vs complex). Angļu valodas mēnesis skolēnu pozitīvas attieksmes veicināšanai pret angļu valodu un tās kultūru 1. – 4. klasēs

Šajā diplomdarbā tiek analizēts, kā studentu pozitīvā attieksme pret angļu valodu un tās kultūru var tikt sekmēta angļu valodas mēneša ietvaros pamatskolas 1.- 4. klasēs, iekļaujot tādas aktivitātes kā angļu dziesmu konkurss, angļu pēcpusdienu ar izklaidēm un mācību scenārijiem, spēlēm un lomu spēļu aktivitātēm, dzejas konkursiem utt. Kvantitatīvie (1.- 4. klašu skolēnu aizpildītas anketas, n = 342) un kvalitatīvie dati (intervijas ar 2 skolotājiem un 1 administrācijas pārstāvi no skolas), kā arī novērojumi 2015. gada februārī Ziemeļvalstu ģimnāzijā veido pētniecības bāzi.
