Approaching a “naked” boryl anion: amide metathesis as a route to calcium, strontium, and potassium boryl complexes

Abstract Amide metathesis has been used to generate the first structurally characterized boryl complexes of calcium and strontium, {(Me3Si)2N}M{B(NDippCH)2}(thf)n (M=Ca, n=2; M=Sr, n=3), through the reactions of the corresponding bis(amides), M{N(SiMe3)2}2(thf)2, with (thf)2Li‐ {B(NDippCH)2}. Most notably, this approach can also be applied to the analogous potassium amide K{N(SiMe3)2}, leading to the formation of the solvent‐free borylpotassium dimer [K{B(NDippCH)2}]2, which is stable in the solid state at room temperature for extended periods (48 h). Electronic structure of the glyoxalbis(2-hydroxyanil) (gha) ligand in [CoIII(gha)(PPh3)2]+: radical vs. non-radical states

The synthesis, structure and spectroscopic properties of a complex salt [CoIII(gha)(PPh3)2][CoIICl3(PPh3)]·C2H5OH (1) are reported; gha = glyoxalbis(2-hydroxyanil). This is the first single crystal X-ray structure of a (gha)2− complex with a transition element. Though the determined bond parameters and UV-Vis spectroscopic data correlate well with a diradical description for the cation in 1, detailed electronic structure calculations using density functional theory confirm that [Co(gha)(PPh3)2]+ can be described as a closed shell singlet species which nevertheless displays an interesting electronic structure with significant electron transfer to the formally unoccupied LUMO of the square pl…

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā ar senās DNS analīžu palīdzību ir iespējams papildināt jau esošās zināšanas, kas iegūtas ar tādām pētniecības metodēm kā literatūras un avotu analīze, kā arī arheoloģijas metodēm, kā piemēru izmantojot konkrētus agro jauno laiku Rīgas apbedījumus. Darba ietvaros tika veikta senās DNS izdalīšana un analīze, kuras rezultāti sasaistīti ar apbedījumu arheoloģisko un vēsturisko kontekstu, tādejādi izvirzot populāciju ģenētikas teorijā balstītas hipotēzes par konkrēto indivīdu izcelsmi. Syntheses and catalytic oxotransfer activities of oxo molybdenum(vi) complexes of a new aminoalcohol phenolate ligand.

The new aminoalcohol phenol 2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-(((2-hydroxy-2-phenylethyl)amino)methyl)phenol (H2L) was prepared by a facile solvent-free synthesis and used as a tridentate ligand for new cis-dioxomolybdenum(vi)(L) complexes. In the presence of a coordinating solvent (DMSO, MeOH, pyridine), the complexes crystallise as monomeric solvent adducts while in the absence of such molecules, a trimer with asymmetric Mo[double bond, length as m-dash]O→Mo bridges crystallises. The complexes can catalyse epoxidation of cis-cyclooctene and sulfoxidation of methyl-p-tolylsulfide, using tert-butyl hydroperoxide as oxidant.

Interplay of spin-dependent delocalization and magnetic anisotropy in the ground and excited states of [Gd2@C78]− and [Gd2@C80]−

The magnetic properties and electronic structure of the ground and excited states of two recently characterized endohedral metallo-fullerenes, [Gd2@C78]- (1) and [Gd2@C80]- (2), have been studied by theoretical methods. The systems can be considered as [Gd2]5+ dimers encapsulated in a fullerene cage with the fifteen unpaired electrons ferromagnetically coupled into an S = 15/2 high-spin configuration in the ground state. The microscopic mechanisms governing the Gd-Gd interactions leading to the ferromagnetic ground state are examined by a combination of density functional and ab initio calculations and the full energy spectrum of the ground and lowest excited states is constructed by means …

Darba teorētiskajā daļā ir apkopota informācija par jēdzienu “spēle” un vairākiem spēļu veidiem, sniegts ieskats spēles Dungeons & Dragons vēsturē un tās galvenajos elementos, kā arī apkopota informācija par speciālo leksiku un tai atbilstošajām tulkošanas stratēģijām. Tässä tutkielmassa tutkitaan ruotsinopettajien valmiuksia kohdata oppilaita, joilla on dysleksia. Lisäksi tutkielmassa tarkastellaan opettajankoulutuksen mahdollisia vaikutuksia tähän valmiuteen. Tutkielmassa käytetään sekä kvantitatiivisia, että kvalitatiivisia metodeja. Aineistonkeruu suoritettiin kyselylomakkeilla, jotka sisälsivät sekä strukturoituja-, että avoimia kysymyksiä. Strukturoidut kysymykset käsiteltiin kvantitatiivisesti ja avoimet kysymykset kvalitatiivisesti. Kyselyyn osallistui yhteensä 17 vastaajaa. Children at risk for dyslexia show deficient left-hemispheric memory representations for new spoken word forms

Developmental dyslexia is a specific learning disorder with impairments in reading and spelling acquisition. Apart from literacy problems, dyslexics show inefficient speech encoding and deficient novel word learning, with underlying problems in phonological processing and learning. These problems have been suggested to be related to deficient specialization of the left hemisphere for language processing.
