Cluster headache (CH), which is characterized by recurrent attacks of short-lasting excruciating pain accompanied by signs of autonomic dysfunction (ICHD-II) (Headache Classification Subcommittee of the IHS, 2004), is the most severe of the primary headache syndromes.
