Revealing the Electronic Structure and Optical Properties of CuFeO2 as a p-Type Oxide Semiconductor

Delafossite CuFeO2 is a p-type oxide semiconductor with a band gap of ∼1.5 eV, which has attracted great interests for applications in solar energy harvesting and oxide electronics. However, there are still some discrepancies in the literature regarding its fundamental electronic structure and transport properties. In this paper, we use a synergistic combination of resonant photoemission spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy to directly study the electronic structure of well-defined CuFeO2 epitaxial thin films. The superionic conductor Cu_(2−δ)Se has been shown to be a promising thermoelectric at higher temperatures because of very low lattice thermal conductivities, attributed to the liquid-like mobility of copper ions in the superionic phase. In this work, we present the potential of copper selenide to achieve a high figure of merit at room temperature, if the intrinsically high hole carrier concentration can be reduced. Using bromine as a dopant, we show that reducing the charge carrier concentration in Cu_(2−δ)Se is in fact possible. Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, an experiential modality, views emotion central to therapeutic change. In this exploratory study, we examined therapists' repetition of somatically focused interventions (therapist verbalizing somatic cues, such as facial expressions) and their impact on clients' emotional experiencing in-session. Instructional support predicts children’s task avoidance in kindergarten

Abstract This study examined the role of observed classroom quality in children's task-avoidant behavior and math skills in kindergarten. To investigate this, 1268 children were tested twice on their math skills during their kindergarten year. Kindergarten teachers ( N = 137) filled in questionnaires measuring their professional experience and also rated the children on their task-avoidant versus task-focused behaviors. This study examined the cross-lagged associations between the quality of classroom interactions and children’s behaviors in achievement situations. The achievement behaviors in challenging test situations of 166 Finnish children from 70 classrooms were rated by trained testers in grades 1 and 2. The quality of classroom interactions in terms of emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support were observed in 25 classrooms (out of 70) in grades 1 and 2. Sharing economy and dynamic pricing: Is the impact of Airbnb on the hotel industry time-dependent?

Abstract Prior literature has reported significant price and revenue reductions in the hotel industry due to the emergence of Airbnb. Other studies have documented that hotels' price reactions to the penetration of Airbnb depend on their service level, e.g., low/medium-end versus high end. Relying on a large sample from the Italian market, we contribute by showing that the effect of Airbnb on hotels' price decisions does not only depend on incumbents’ quality level, but also on the difference between booking and check-in time. That is, the effect of the penetration of Airbnb on hotels' dynamic price decisions varies over time depending on the core segment hotels target.
Information technology and logistics quality: a basis for companies' segmentation

The use of information technology (IT) is substantially modifying business areas in companies, and logistics is no exception. Moreover, the incorporation of concepts like 'Quality' has been truly revolutionary. This paper focuses on the study of these variables and aims to investigate their ability to group companies. To attain this goal we have carried out an empirical research in the Spanish market. The study carried out shows that companies can be grouped according to the level of introduction and use of IT and their perceptions on the level of service quality provided by the supplier.

This research examines the link between turnover intentions from temporary and permanent organizations and how both types of turnover intentions affect employee performance at an individual, temporary and permanent organizational level. Using dyadic data from 253 team members and their supervisors we find that turnover intentions from temporary organizations significantly enhance turnover intentions from permanent organizations, which leads to decreasing performance at all three levels.
