Fungal hyphal growth and branching are essential traits that allow fungi to spread and proliferate in many environments. This sustained growth is essential for a myriad of applications in health, agriculture, and industry. However, comparisons between different fungi are difficult in the absence of standardized metrics. Aims/Hypothesis The aim of this study was to examine the sit up test to exhaustion as a field test for muscular endurance evaluation in a sample of sedentary people of both sexes. Methods A cross-sectional study was performed. Three-hundred-eighty-one participants volunteered for the study (28.5 ± 10.0 years; 168.2 ± 8.9 cm; 65.1 ± 11.1 kg), of which 194 males (27.5 ± 10.2 years; 173.6 ± 7.0 cm; 71.2 ± 5.2 kg) and 187 females (29.6 ± 10.1 years; 162.6 ± 7.1 cm; 58.7 ± 8.9 kg). The calibration and analysis of polarization observations in Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) requires the use of specific algorithms that suffer from several limitations, closely related to assumptions in the data properties that may not hold in observations taken with new-generation VLBI equipment. Nowadays, the instantaneous bandwidth achievable with VLBI backends can be as high as several GHz, covering several radio bands simultaneously. In addition, the sensitivity of VLBI observations with state-of-the-art equipment may reach dynamic ranges of tens of thousands, both in total intensity and in polarization. We consider the initial boundary value problem for free-evolution formulations of general relativity coupled to a parametrized family of coordinate conditions that includes both the moving puncture and harmonic gauges. We concentrate primarily on boundaries that are geometrically determined by the outermost normal observer to spacelike slices of the foliation. We present high-order-derivative boundary conditions for the gauge, constraint violating and gravitational wave degrees of freedom of the formulation. We analyze Einstein's vacuum field equations in generalized harmonic coordinates on a compact spatial domain with boundaries. We specify a class of boundary conditions which is constraint-preserving and sufficiently general to include recent proposals for reducing the amount of spurious reflections of gravitational radiation. Abstract In this paper, an approach useful for stochastic analysis of the Gaussian and non-Gaussian behavior of the response of multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) wind-excited structures is presented. This approach is based on a particular model of the multivariate stochastic wind field based upon a particular diagonalization of the power spectral density (PSD) matrix of the fluctuating part of wind velocity. Abstract We prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions, with prescribed nodal properties, for a BVP associated with a system of asymptotically linear second order equations. The applicability of an abstract continuation theorem is ensured by upper and lower bounds on the number of zeros of each component of a solution.
Multiplicity results for asymptotically linear equations, using the rotation number approach

By using a topological approach and the relation between rotation numbers and weighted eigenvalues, we give some multiplicity results for the boundary value problem u′′ + f(t, u) = 0, u(0) = u(T) = 0, under suitable assumptions on f(t, x)/x at zero and infinity. Solutions are characterized by their nodal properties.
