The Effect of Plant Water Status on the Chemical Composition of Pistachio Nuts (Pistacia vera L. Cultivar Bianca)

Pistachio nuts are worldwide appreciated for their chemical and organoleptic profiles. There are several studies on the influence of irrigation on pistachio productivity, whereas there are little available data on the influence on nut quality. In this study we characterized some qualitative traits of pistachio nuts cultivar Bianca in Mediterranean environment and how plant water status affected them. Water status had a positive and significant influence on the chlorophylls content, nuts from less stressed trees showed higher values of chlorophyll a (14.7 mg/100 g) and b (21.1 mg/100 g) compared than more stressed trees (9.3 and 11.5 mg/100 g for a and b, respectively). El tema central de esta tesis doctoral ha sido el crecimiento cristalino de nano y microestructuras de ZnO mediantes los métodos PVD y MOCVD. De manera general, mediante los diversos estudios realizados, hemos profundizado en el proceso de crecimiento de las nano y microestructuras de ZnO obtenidas con el método PVD en ausencia de catalizador dentro de un rango de temperaturas relativamente bajo (300-500 ºC). Los estudios realizados nos permitieron obtener la síntesis de una amplia gama de estructuras de ZnO con diferentes morfologías, como por ejemplo: poliedros aislados, agujas, hilos y capas rugosas. Environmental control on granular clinoforms of ancient carbonate shelves

The purpose of this paper is to document the influence of depositional environments on shallow-water, low-relief clinoforms from the description of five ancient carbonate platforms: the Neoproterozoic (Namibia), Middle Jurassic (France), Lower Cretaceous (France), Upper Cretaceous (Oman) and Miocene (Turkey). These examples have been investigated on the basis of field observations. The clinoforms are described with reference to geometric and compositional attributes: declivity, shape, height, sedimentary structures, sediment fabric and components.
