Shaping 1,2,4-Triazolium Fluorinated Ionic Liquid Crystals

The synthesis and thermotropic behaviour of some di-alkyloxy-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolium trifluoromethane-sulfonate salts bearing a seven-carbon atom perfluoroalkyl chain on the cation is herein described. The fluorinated salts presenting a 1,2,4-triazole as a core and differing in the length of two alkyloxy chains on the phenyl ring demonstrated a typical liquid crystalline behaviour. The mesomorphic properties of this set of salts were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. W pracy zsyntezowano szereg układów SILP z katalizatorem wanadocenowym – Cp2VCl2 poprzez immobilizację cieczy jonowych na różne rodzaje krzemionek, różniących się powierzchnią właściwą i wielkością porów, które modyfikowano wybranym związkiem glinoorganicznym – AlEtCl2 lub AlEt2Cl. Zsyntezowane układy analizowano metodami: FTIR, analiza elementarna, BET, AAS i SEM. Desulfurization of fuel that avoids the introduction in the atmosphere of toxic sulfur volatile compounds, usually formed during combustion, is a viable strategy to reduce pollution. Dicationic organic salts: gelators for ionic liquids

Diimidazolium and dipyrrolidinium organic salts were tested for their ability to gel both organic solvents and ionic liquids. Organic salts containing 1-(1-imidazolylmethyl)-3,5-di-(3'-octylimidazolylmethyl)-benzene and 1-(N-pyrrolidylmethyl)-3,5-di-(N,N-octylpyrrolidylmethyl)-benzene cations were used. In addition to the simple bromide anion, also dianions having a naphthalene core such as 1,5- and 2,6-naphthalenedisulfonate and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate were taken into account. The Basel III agreement has emerged due to the need for a more efficient risk management in banking in order to prevent banking crises. The vision presented by Basel III and then taken over by European regulations is much stricter than earlier agreements, one of the novelties brought by this agreement being the introduction of indicators to monitor the liquidity risk. Through this work we aim to perform an analysis on how to determine the indicators, because in general, these indicators are present only in their synthetic shape but the practical determination is complex and causes difficulties, particularly for small banks.

The relationship between different rates of liquidity and profitability, is one of the most popular topics of research in the financial management field. In order to demonstrate the correlation between these variables, we used the statistical program SPSS. The analyzed societies are: Zentiva, Biofarm and Antibiotice Iasi, listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The research leads to the conclusion that all the societies have sufficient liquidity to cover the payment obligations. Also, using the Pearson correlation coefficient, we demonstrated the fact that the liquidity is one of the indicators that determine the profitability of the analyzed societies.

Occurrence of pharmaceuticals in municipal wastewater treatment plants and receiving surface waters in Central and Southern Finland

The presence of five selected pharmaceuticals, four anti-inflammatory drugs, diclofenac, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, naproxen, and an antiepileptic drug carbamazepine, was determined at four municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and in the receiving waterway near the city of Jyväskylä, in central Finland and also in the River Vantaa. N-Cinnamoyltetraketide Derivatives from the Leaves of Toussaintia orientalis

Seven N-cinnamoyltetraketides (1−7), including the new Ztoussaintine E (2), toussaintine F (6), and toussaintine G (7), were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Toussaintia orientalis using column chromatography and HPLC. The configurations of E-toussaintine E (1) and toussaintines A (3) and D (5) are revised based on single-crystal X-ray diffraction data from racemic crystals. Both the crude methanol extract and the isolated constituents exhibit antimycobacterial activities (MIC 83.3−107.7 μM) against the H37Rv strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This research i) examined the influence of a brief nutrition-based intervention among primary care patients in changing nutrition and clinical values related to metabolic syndrome (study 1), and ii) assessed nutrition and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its clinical determinants among primary care patients in different sociodemographic groups (study 2).
