Tensions between the people and parliament over representation are a normal feature of representative democracies. In this paper, we demonstrate how digital humanities analysis tools help in answering questions about the timing of debates on popular representation, tensions over its realization, and representatives’ changing perceptions on their parliamentary role. Pētījums Datorterminu lietojums Latvijas IT speciālistu mutiskajā saziņā tapis ar nolūku izpētīt latviešu datorterminu lietojumu IT nozares speciālistu mutiskā saziņā darba vidē Latvijā. Darba mērķis ir atklāt IT terminoloģijas lietojuma tendences un paradumus šīs jomas speciālistu vidū. Darbā tika izmantotas kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīva metodes. Aptaujājot 186 IT speciālistus, pētījumā tiek atklāts, ka gandrīz 70% no respondentiem izvēlas lietot transkribējumus oficiāli apstiprināto terminu vietā, un latviešu cilmes terminu vietā IT jomā strādājošie dod priekšroku aizguvumiem, anglismiem un žargonvārdiem. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan sitä, miten nukkumista ohjeistettiin 1800-luvun lopun ja 1900-luvun alkukymmenten suomalaisessa terveysvalistuksessa ja mitä hyvän unen avulla tavoiteltiin. Artikkelissa kysytään myös, ketkä nukkumisohjeita laativat, kenelle ne oli suunnattu ja millaisesta ajattelutavasta ne kumpusivat. Unihygienia eli nukkumiseen ja liittyvät ohjeistukset olivat osa kansainvälistä hygienialiikettä, joka oli vahvimmillaan juuri 1800-luvun loppupuolella. Health Education Teachers’ Assessment Conceptions and Practices : Identifying Assessment Profiles

The study explored the latent construct underlying the assessment conceptions and practices of Finnish Health Education teachers (n = 165) in the context of curricula, seeking thereby to identify the teachers’ assessment profiles. Six underlying factors were found to encompass their assessment conceptions and practices, namely Assessment supporting learning, Assessment of working, Self and peer assessment as part of grading, Common assessment criteria, Questionable assessment practices, and Norm-referenced assessment. One of the problems related with the word order and word order typology is connected with derivation obtaining in the narrow syntax and the conditions responsible for the Full Interpretation requirement at LF as well as at PF. If it is assumed that linearization as defined in Kayne (1994) is the reflexion of the asymmetric character of syntax at PF, then it is worth analysing which properties of the syntactic derivation within the narrow syntax are reflected at PF and which configurations seen on the surface are the results of PF conditions.
