La nécropole monumentale Cerny de Passy (Yonne) : description d'ensemble et problèmes d'interprétation

International audience; D'abord repérée d'avion, puis fouillée sur l'emprise d'une gravière, la nécropole néolithique de Passy couvre plus de 20 hectares. Elle se compose d'une trentaine de grands monuments allongés, orientés à l'Est, et construits de terre et de bois. Les défunts, déposés sur le dos dans de probable coffres, reposaient dans des fosses profondes creusées dans l'axe des monuments. Les dépôts funéraires, qui comprennent des objets anthropomorphes, permettent d'attribuer ces sépultures au groupe de Cerny. Anhand einer qualitativen und quantitativen Studie wurden die minimale und die maximale Anzahl der dem Endneolithikum zugeordneten Keramikindividuen ermittelt. Der Corpus umfasst drei typologische und technische Gruppen, die drei chronologischen und kulturellen Phasen entsprechen. Eine Quantifizierung der unterschiedlichen Formen vermittelt ein Bild des endneolithischen Keramikrepertoires des Fundplatzes. Der für die Herstellung der Keramik benutzte Ton ist lokaler Herkunft. Die seit 2001 im Rahmen eines PCR (Programme Collectif Régional) durchgeführte Gemeinschaftsarbeit über das Ende des Neolithikums und den Beginns der Bronzezeit im Zentrum Nordfrankreichs führt heute zu einer neuen Periodisierung der Zeit zwischen 3600 und 1800 v. Chr. in acht Etappen. Obwohl, insbesondere bezüglich der Transition zwischen dem Mittel-und dem Jungneolithikum einerseits und dem Jung-und dem Endneolithikum andererseits, auch weiterhin einige Lücken bestehen, erlaubt dieser präzisere Rahmen die Hauptetappen im Zentrum Nordfrankreichs mit denen der benachbarten Regionen zu synchronisieren, um eine dynamischere Vision der kulturellen Phänomene vorzuschlagen.

The integrated technological approach of the lithic industries in Southern France Chassey culture and neighbouring cultures is a way to highlight a complex organisation of space. The development of long distance diffusion networks of lithic products from western Provence creates interdependence between producing-exporting sites and receiving-consuming sites. The analysis of their functioning, from raw material sources until remote consuming sites, is undergone on various scales (from supra-regional to local), through lithic technology and use wear analysis.

Die von J.-P. Delor anhand von Luftaufnahmen identifizierte Einhegung von Deux-Rivières (Cravant) war 1999 Gegenstand einer kurzen Sondierungskampagne. Sie ist von einer Palissade und möglicherweise einem Graben oder einer zweiten Palisade umgeben und umgrenzt ein ca. 1,5 ha großes Areal. Sie wurde durch den Bau der Rollbahn eines Militärflughafens, bei dem der Innenbereich teilweise abgetragen wurde, stark beschädigt. Das Fundmaterial gestattet keine genauere Datierung. Die seltenen Indizien legen eine Zuordnung zu der in der Region gut vertretenen Cerny-Kultur nahe.
