Theatricalization of self : personal blogs as theatre performance

The aim of this thesis is to compare personal blogs and theatre art. The study is conducted as theoretical discourse and focuses on comparison of personal blogs with a subgenre of theatre art, performance art. Using actual selected examples from theatre art as well as from personal blogs, the study aims to outline the similarities, which personal blogs share with theatre performance. The theoretical framework of the thesis suggests that personal blogs with their nature of the observed subject, the blogger, and the observer, the reader, produce one of the basic elements of theatre art, theatricality. The mechanism of the reaction of olefins and hydrogen with dimetallenes ArMMAr (Ar = aromatic group; M = Al or Ga) was studied by density functional theory calculations and experimental methods. The digallenes, for which the most experimental data are available, are extensively dissociated to gallanediyl monomers, :GaAr, in hydrocarbon solution, but the calculations and experimental data showed also that they react with simple olefins, such as ethylene, as intact ArGaGaAr dimers via stepwise [2 + 2 + 2] cycloadditions due to their considerably lower activation barriers vis-à-vis the gallanediyl monomers, :GaAr. Hyvinvointibloggaajien käsitykset heidän blogiensa vaikutuksesta lukijoihinsa

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää suomalaisten hyvinvointibloggaajien käsityksiä siitä, miten he vaikuttavat lukijoihinsa, sekä bloggaajien vastuutaan tuottamastaan sisällöstään. Lisäksi selvitimme, ovatko bloggaajat tietoisia asemastaan tiedonvälittäjinä ja nuorten elämäntapoihin vaikuttajana. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin syksyllä 2017 puolistrukturoidulla avoimella kyselylomakkeella, joka lähetettiin sähköpostitse 38 suomalaisille tunnetulle hyvinvointibloggaajalle. Heistä kymmenen vastasi kyselylomakkeeseen. Vastaajista yksi oli mies ja yhdeksän naisia. Aineisto analysoitiin laadullisella aineistonanalyysilla. Multidimensional Health Modelling: Association between Socioeconomic Factors and Health in Latvia

This paper proposes new approach for modelling self-assessed health. We find that the concept of health is too complicated to measure effects of health determinants using a one-dimensional econometric model. We apply two-dimensional stereotype logistic model that allows capturing nonmonotonicity in effects of factors and revealing significant effects that remain unrevealed if single dimension models, such as ordered logit or ordered probit, are used. Modelling self-assessed health using multi-dimensional stereotype logit provides higher model goodness of fit and quality measures in comparison to ordered probit model. Association Between Self-Assessed Health and Attitude Towards Own Health

This paper explores association between health and attitude towards own health in two dimensions – taking care of own health and lifestyle. We apply two-dimensional stereotype logit model to estimate association between self-assessed health and attitude towards health, after accounting for socioeconomic factors. We find evidence of strong positive association between health status and (perceived) taking care of own health and lifestyle. Analysis of perception of the two concepts – "taking care of own health" and "healthy lifestyle" – provides insights into possible reasons of not very good indicators of health behaviour among Latvian population.

Tieto- ja viestintäteknologia tarjoaa monia mahdollisuuksia kielen oppimiseen, opettamiseen ja arviointiin. Podcastit ja vlogit ovat monille opiskelijoille vapaa-ajalta tuttuja, mutta yliopisto-opetuksessa niitä on toistaiseksi käytetty vain rajallisesti. Tässä artikkelissa esittelen opetuskokeilujani, joissa olen hyödyntänyt opiskelijoiden tekemiä vlogeja ja podcasteja osana pohjoismaisten kielten kursseja. Onnistuneet kokeilut ja positiivinen opiskelijapalaute innostavat jatkamaan vlogien ja podcastien käyttöä opetuksessa ja arvioinnissa myös jatkossa. nonPeerReviewed

Tutkin pro gradu -tutkielmassani, miten opetusharjoittelun yhteydessä lukion ÄI5 Teksti, tyyli ja konteks-ti kurssille luodun blogipohjaisen Klassikkopaletti-internetsivuston ja siihen liittyvän työskentelyn kautta voidaan opettaa kirjallisuuden klassikoita ja tulevaisuuden taitoja. Tulevaisuuden tai 2000-luvun taidoilla tarkoitetaan nykyajan ja tulevaisuuden toimintaympäristöissä tarvittavia ajatteluun, työskentelytapoihin ja välineisiin sekä maailmassa vastuullisesti elämiseen liittyviä taitoja.
