Multi-site analytical evaluation of a chemiluminescent magnetic microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for sirolimus on the Abbott ARCHITECT analyzer.
2009
Objective This study evaluated a new chemiluminescent magnetic microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for sirolimus on the ARCHITECT analyzer. Design and methods Patient and laboratory proficiency samples were tested at three European sites and one site in the United States. Results The CMIA total %CV's were all < 8% and the Limit of Quantification (LOQ) was < 1.52 ng/mL across the four sites. It cross-reacts to sirolimus metabolites F4 and F5 and showed no hematocrit interference over a range of 25% to 55%. Patient specimen correlations to three LC/MS/MS methods gave R ≥ 0.91 at three sites and mean biases of 14%, 25% and 39%. CMIA patient specimen correlations to the Abbott IMx gave R ≥ 0.94 at…
Self-organization and nanostructural control in thin film heterojunctions.
2013
In spite of more than two-decades of studies of molecular self-assembly, the achievement of low cost, easy-to-implement and multi-parameter bottom-up approaches to address the supramolecular morphology in three-dimensional (3D) systems is still missing. In the particular case of molecular thin films, the 3D nanoscale morphology and function are crucial for both fundamental and applied research. Here we show how it is possible to tune the 3D film structure (domain size, branching, etc.) of thin film heterojunctions with nanoscale accuracy together with the modulation of their optoelectronic properties by employing an easy two-step approach. At first we prepared multi-planar heterojunctions w…
Defects induced by He+ irradiation in γ-Si3N4
2021
International audience; Formation and evolution of defect levels in the electronic structure of silicon nitride with cubic spinel structure, -Si 3 N 4 , after the irradiation with He + ions was investigated using spectroscopic techniques. Strong changes of cathodoluminescence (CL), photoluminescence (PL), photoluminescence excitation (PLE) and Raman spectra were detected. In particular, excitonic PL was significantly inhibited and a new near-IR band appeared with the band gap excitation h≥E g =5.05 eV. This was explained by an effective trapping of photoinduced electrons and holes by charged defects. The spectral shift of PL with the excitation photon energy indicated heterogeneous nature…
Is dust a suitable material for retrospective personal dosimetry?
2010
This work investigates the feasibility of using silicates contained in dust for retrospective individual dosimetry in case of a radiation accident or a radiological attack involving people not wearing physical dosimeters. It is well known that minerals (silicates) can be used for dosimetry and dust already plays an important role in the field of food irradiation detection using luminescence techniques as described in the European Standards (EN 13751 and EN 1788). This paper explores the feasibility of conducting retrospective personal dosimetry on the basis of thermoluminescence analysis of silicates extracted from dust on objects that people usually wear (e.g. jewelry, watches, keys and co…
Hyper-Rayleigh scattering and two-photon luminescence of phenylamine- indandione chromophores
2012
Based on results of quantum chemical (QC) screening, we put under research several phenylamine indane-1,3-dione derivatives including octupolar NLO chromophore A3BI. According to these calculations, molecular first hyperpolarizability (βHRS) should be enhanced upon replacement of methyl substituents with phenyl groups. Surprisingly, βHRS values obtained in our measurements by hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) are much higher than one could expect from QC. Bearing in mind that two-photon luminescence (TPL) is usual cause for overestimation of βHRS in HRS measurements, we have accomplished investigations of TPL properties of these compounds. All investigated triphenylamine derivatives exhibit s…
Mono- and di-nuclear 2,3-diazabutadiene and 2-azabutadiene complexes of Rhenium(I): Syntheses, luminescence spectra and X-ray structures
2008
Abstract Treatment of [Re(CO)3(THF)(μ-Br)]2 with 4,4-dichloro-1,1-diphenyl-2-azabuta-1,3-diene [Cl2C C(H)–N CPh2] (1a) yields the di-nuclear benzophenone azine-bridged compound [(OC)3Re(μ-Ph2C N–N CPh2)(μ-Br)2Re(CO)3] (2a), albeit in low yield. Alternatively, compounds [(OC)3Re(μ-Ph2C N–N CPh2)(μ-X)2Re(CO)3] (2a,b) (X = Br, Cl) are obtained in high yields by direct reaction of [Re(CO)3(THF)(μ-Br)]2 or [Re(CO)5Cl] with benzophenone azine. Nucleophilic attack of NaSPh on 1a affords the 2-azabutadiene derivative [(PhS)(Cl)C C(H)–N CPh2] (1b), which upon reaction with [Re(CO)3(THF)(μ-Br)]2 forms the S,N-chelate complex fac-[(OC)3ReBr{(PhS)(Cl)C C(H)–N CPh2}] (3). The crystal structures of 1b, 2…
Weak intermolecular interactions promote blue luminescence of protonated 2,2′-dipyridylamine salts
2014
In this work we demonstrate that protonation and π-stacking can be exploited to convert non-luminescent 2,2′-dipyridylamine into blue-emitting derivatives. We have synthesized a series of luminescent 2,2′-dipyridylamine (dpa) salts, i.e., (dpaH)X·nSolv (dpa = 2,2′-dipyridylamine, X = HF2, n = 0.5, Solv = H2O 1; X = Cl, n = 2, Solv = H2O 2; X = Br, n = 2, Solv = H2O 3; X = I n = 1, Solv = H2O 4a; X = I n = 1, Solv = CHCl34b), (dpaH)2[SiF6]·H2O 5 and (dpaH)X (X = I36; SbF67; BF48) and characterized their emission properties, both in the solid-state and in solution. To rationalize our observations and relate the luminescence properties to the structure in the solid state and in solution, we ha…
Solid State Luminescence Enhancement in π-Conjugated Materials: Unraveling the Mechanism beyond the Framework of AIE/AIEE
2017
Solid state luminescence enhancement (SLE) of conjugated organic materials has had a great impact in materials science, but a deep understanding has been rather limited to date. Here, we investigate a prototype example of SLE materials, cyano-substituted distyrylbenzene (DCS), by varying systematically and subtly the substitution pattern (inter alia of the position of the cyano-substituent) to give largely different photoresponse in fluid and solid solution as well in the crystalline state. The combination of quantitative (ultra)fast optical spectroscopic techniques, appropriate quantum-chemical methods, and structural (X-ray) data allows us to elucidate and rationalize all details of the S…
Ag44(EBT)26(TPP)4Nanoclusters With Tailored Molecular and Electronic Structure
2021
Although atomically precise metalloid nanoclusters (NCs) of identical size with distinctly different molecular structures are highly desirable to understand the structural effects on the optical and photophysical properties, their synthesis remains highly challenging. Herein, we employed phosphine and thiol capping ligands featuring appropriate steric effects and synthesized a charge-neutral Ag NC with the formula Ag44 (EBT)26 (TPP)4 (EBT: 2-ethylbenzenethiolate; TPP: triphenylphosphine). The single-crystal X-ray structure reveals that this NC has a hollow metal core of Ag12 @Ag20 and a metal-ligand shell of Ag12 (EBT)26 (TPP)4 . The presence of mixed ligands and long V-shaped metal-ligand …
Phosphane tuning in heteroleptic [Cu(N^N)(P^P)]+ complexes for light-emitting electrochemical cells
2019
The synthesis and characterization of five [Cu(P^P)(N^N)][PF 6 ] complexes in which P^P = 2,7-bis( tert -butyl)-4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene ( t Bu 2 xantphos) or the chiral 4,5-bis(mesitylphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene (xantphosMes 2 ) and N^N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), 6-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (6-Mebpy) or 6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (6,6'-Me 2 bpy) are reported. Single crystal structures of four of the compounds confirm that the copper(I) centre is in a distorted tetrahedral environment. In [Cu(xantphosMes 2 )(6-Mebpy)][PF 6 ], the 6-Mebpy unit is disordered over two equally populated orientations and this disorder parallels a combination of two dynamic processe…
