Automatic production of three-dimensionnel models by 3D digitization
2012
The manual 3D digitization process is expensive since it requires a highly trained technician who decides about the different views needed to acquire the object model. The quality of the final result strongly depends, in addition to the complexity of the object shape, on the selected viewpoints and thus on the human expertise. Nowadays, the most developed digitization strategies in industry are based on a teaching approach in which a human operator manually determines one set of poses for the ranging device. The main drawback of this methodology is the influence of the operator's expertise. Moreover, this technique does not fulfill the high level requirement of industrial applications which…
Multifunctionality: Epistemic diversity and concept oriented research clusters
2008
International audience; This paper provides a mapping of the different uses of the word multifunctionality. To explore the diversity of meanings and interpretations, a comparative analysis was conducted through five national case studies in France, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland. The analysis conducted at national level makes it possible to identify eight Concept Oriented Research Clusters (CORCs), based on a relative homogeneity in the research practices, in the research questions addressed, in the concepts used or discussed by scientists to lead their work and in the scientific disciplines, the stream of thought or possibly the epistemic community researchers belong to. Th…
Parallel translations, Newton flows and Q-Wiener processes on the Wasserstein space
2022
- We extend the definition of Lott’s Levi-Civita connection to the Wasserstein space of probability measures having density and divergence. We give an extension of a vector field defined along an absolutely curve onto the whole space so that parallel translations can be introduced as done in differential geometry. In the case of torus, we prove the well-posedness of Lott’s equation for parallel translations.- We prove the well-posedness of the Newton flow equation on the Wasserstein space and show the connections between the relaxed Newton flow equation and the Keller-Segel equation.- We establish an intrinsic formalism for Itô stochastic calculus on the Wasserstein space throughout three k…
2004
This work consists in the development of a theoretical tool for the purpose to undertake numerical simulations able to take into account the coupling between the probe and the object. The first part, concerns the combination of the differential method and the algorithms T and S, to overcome numerical problems which appear in the cases where the size of system (probe - object) is more realistic. The developed global model is two-dimensional and applied in polarization TE under the normal diffraction condition. We have used the developed model to study the formation of optical image by monomodes and multimodes probes. The obtained optical images at constant height, have allowed us to study th…
Les parcours d'insertion des jeunes
2011
Studies on the response of a water-Cherenkov detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory to atmospheric muons using an RPC hodoscope
2020
Extensive air showers, originating from ultra-high energy cosmic rays, have been successfully measured through the use of arrays of water-Cherenkov detectors (WCDs). Sophisticated analyses exploiting WCD data have made it possible to demonstrate that shower simulations, based on different hadronic-interaction models, cannot reproduce the observed number of muons at the ground. The accurate knowledge of the WCD response to muons is paramount in establishing the exact level of this discrepancy. In this work, we report on a study of the response of a WCD of the Pierre Auger Observatory to atmospheric muons performed with a hodoscope made of resistive plate chambers (RPCs), enabling us to selec…
