Looking for determinants of willingness-to-pay for Sibelius Hall, Lahti

The aim of this paper is to determine the factors affecting the willingness-to-pay for a local concert hall, namely Sibelius Hall in Lahti. Our study argues that a high income, the use of cultural services and a positive attitude towards culture were connected to a high willingness-to-pay for Sibelius Hall. Our study revealed that “I do not know” answers can be partly explained by the character of cultural preferences being an acquired taste. As a consequence, the users and respondents exhibiting a positive attitude towards culture may choose the “I do not know” option instead of making a zero bid. peerReviewed

Öjanjärvi on syntynyt vuonna 1969, jolloin se padottiin merenlahdesta erilliseksi makeanvedenaltaaksi suurteollisuuden tarpeisiin. Toukokuussa 1998 toteutuneen uuden säännöstelyn mukaisesti järven veden pinnantaso irrotettiin meriveden korkeudesta ja vakautettiin pysyvästi korkeammalle tasolle. This study conducted an in-depth analysis of the factors affecting consumers’ intention to purchase and willingness to pay more for an electric vehicle (EV) in the developing-country context, extending the theory of planned behavior with two new variables: environmental concern and willingness to pay (WTP) a premium. Survey data were collected from 358 responses and were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling.
