2016

The I-Weed robot is a small autonomous platform that aims to characterize the vegetation in an inter-row maize crop for a spot spraying: spraying is done only where a weed is detected. This article presents how the robot works and aims to experimentally evaluate the ability to map weeds from a WeedSeeker system (Trimble) embedded on the I-Weed robot. The results are compared to those from an imaging system, used as ground truth. After analyzing a confusion matrix, it reveals that the system is able to correctly geotag plants at 75 % and is ready for a spot spraying.

2014

The Burgundian vineyard hillslopes (Côte-d’Or, France) exhibit a high diversity of soils resulting from the combination of several natural and anthropogenic factors acting at various spatio-temporal scales. The soil types have major role in viticulture, since they partly determine wine-growing quality. However, soil undergoes important degradation caused by hydric erosion and vineyard management practices. To control this soil heritage for a sustained viticulture in Côte-d’Or, a better knowledge of soil is necessary. The objectives of this work is to characterise vineyard soils and to identify the factors governing their diversity using an interdisciplinary approach crossing geology, geomor…

Mapping soil and substratum at a very high spatial resolution in the hillslope of Couchey (France)

2012

International audience; In this work, we present a method based on very high spatial resolution (VHSR) aerial images acquired in the visible domain and that map soil surface diversity at the hillslope scale with a spatial resolution of a few centimeters. This method combines aerial VHSR image classification with local soil sampling. Principal component analysis (PCA) and non-supervised classification was performed on image characteristics to define soil surface characteristic classes (SSC). Then soil surface mapping was combined with soil surface descriptions and soil profiles to define soil types by physical and chemical characteristics. As soil results from parent material alteration, ide…

Information Spatiale et Archéologie

2011

Application a…

2008

2014

National audience; This chapter introduces Wilson Harris's work to lay readers, with specific emphasis on landscape writing and the combination of real and symbolical spaces in Harris's novels. It also elaborates on issues tackled by Fred D'Aguiar's essay about Harris, a translation of which is included in the same volume.

Progress and prospects of Catalyse tools Integration.

2008

The Catalyse toolkit, within the framework of the caENTI project, will give place before February, 2009 to a complete integration of its diverse components to become the part tools of the community system of territorial intelligence (TICS). The object of this presentation is to place the progress of its works, and to position the stages to come.

On improving the accuracy of Visible Light Positioning system using deep autoencoder

2020

International audience; DC-biased optical Orthogonal Frequency DivisionMultiplexing (DCO-OFDM)-based visible light positioning (VLP)technology along with the Received Signal Strength(RSS) po-sitioning algorithm is widely used to achieve centimeter levelpositioning accuracy for incoming 5G era, especially indoorenvironment. However, the DCO-OFDM has the peak-to-averagepower ratio (PAPR) issue which imposes the nonlinear distortionand it will directly affect the positioning accuracy in the VLPsystem. The PAPR reduction scheme is urgently needed. There-fore, in this paper, the impact of PAPR reduction scheme onpositioning accuracy is investigated. The positioning accuracywith and without the s…
