Whatever derivative contract has a finite life limited by their maturity. The construction of long series, however, is of interest for academic, hedging and investments purposes. In this study, we analyze the relevance of the choice of the rollover date on European Union Allowances (EUAs) and Certified Emissions Reduction (CERs) futures contracts. We have used five different methodologies to construct long series and the results show that, regardless of the criterion applied, there are not significant differences between the resultant return distribution series. Therefore, the least complex method, which is to roll on the last trading day, can be used in order to reach the same conclusions.…

This study, for the first time, investigates the source, keroger pattern, evolution degree, sedimentary environment, and evaluates the hydrocarbon generating ability of marine-continental transitional facies shale from the Ebao area of the Qilian Basin in western China. The organic-rich shales of the marine-continental transitional facies were subjected to total organic carbon (TOC), rock pyrolysis, the biomarkers and kerogen microscopy analyses. The kerogen microscopy analyses indicated that the sample from ZK001 well and ZK2002 well had a mass of vitrinite and small number of exinite, so kerogen type was mainly humic. Sepiolinae (Mollusca: Cephalopoda) from the Strait of Sicily

Nine species belonging to three genera of the subfamily Sepiolinae (Leach, 1817) were collected in the Strait of Sicily by two series of bottom trawl surveys carried out during the years 1985-87 and 1992: Sepiola rondeletii, Sepiola intermedia, Sepiola ligulata, Sepiola robusta, Sepiola affinis, Sepietta oweniana, Sepietta neglecta, Sepietta obscura and Rondeletiola minor. For each species, abundance, distribution, sex ratio and maturity condition were analysed. S. oweniana was the most abundant species, followed by R. minor, while the single record of S. ligulata indicates that the species is rare in the area. The motivation for this research comes from a need to improve software inspection practices in software organizations. Even if inspections are well defined and regularly used in an organization, there may be some problems which can greatly reduce inspection effectiveness. The paper presents a list of inspection related problems which are known in the literature. It also relates some experiences from two case organizations. In addition, this paper provides an approach which helps identifying problems of this kind and directing limited improvement resources effectively.

This study aims to describe the growth, age at first maturity, and sexual dimorphism of this endemic fish on the Nimbai Stream and the Aimasi Stream, the Prafi River system. ABSTRACTWe present a 2-year time-lag study in which Canadian and Spanish students’ perceptions of stress, identity problems, and psychosocial maturity (ego strengths) were examined in relation to academic, social, and personal-emotional adjustment to university under different conditions of macro-environmental disruption (i.e., academic and economic) and no disruption (stability). In the academic disturbance context, students reported increased stress and the economic disruption situation was associated with greater identity problems. The Identity Distress Scale (IDS) was developed as a clinical indicator of severe disturbance or interference in identity development (Berman, Montgomery, & Kurtines, 2004) based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as identity disorder (DSM–III–R) and, subsequently, as identity problem (DSM–IV). This study examined various indices of identity distress as indexed by the IDS in relation to several antecedents and outcome measures among university students in Canada and Spain. Abstract This study analyses the debt maturity of two groups of companies – unlisted and listed – throughout the period 2005–2013. The research takes an agency costs approach to explore the determinants of firms' debt maturity structure for a set of five countries, chosen for being representative of the European Union (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom). Agency costs, as well as institutional and macroeconomic factors, turn out to be decisive in explaining firms’ financial policies regarding debt maturity, during the economic crisis that started in 2007–2008.
